SUMMARY: Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, plates, pipes, and tube or structural shapes, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment. Plan installation or repair to avoid obstructions and avoid interfering with the activities of other workers. Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools. Weld in any direction - flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Must successfully pass weld test in GTAW/SMAW carbon steel super coupon in 6G positions - further special alloy testing may be required Must be able to weld on stainless steel or carbon pipe - all sized Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans Tools - use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner Construction Math - Demonstrates level of competency in construction math as required in trade practice Safety - work safely around the hazards associated with the construction field JOB QUALIFICATIONS: At least 3 years of pipe combo welding in n industrial construction setting OSHA 10 preferred, AWS certified preferred Must have locking tool box and tools necessary to perform the job. Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements. This assignment is 100% x-ray inspection of welds Physical/Site Requirements: Provide OSHA 10 card and or obtain OSHA 10 within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds. Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age. Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
