Director, Creative (SF - Remote, Hybrid)
We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world's most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.
We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.
At DEPT , you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a visionary Director, Creative who thinks beyond the screen and understands the power of physical environments, including retail. In this role, you will be the architect of our clients' brand's physical presence, tasked with pushing creative boundaries both expressively and graphically.
You will not just design stores; you will build flexible systems that breathe life into our clients' brand. We need a leader who can guide a team through the full creative spectrum, iterating from “mild to wild” to discover the perfect balance between avant‑garde storytelling and practical producibility.
In this role, you will lead a cross‑functional team to deliver distinct brand experiences and ensure brand content and campaign messaging are consistent and cohesive across all touchpoints. Additionally, you will join an embedded team, working onsite with the client weekly to oversee launches and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Closely collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of talented people across the agency and projects.
Lead the creative team in rigorous conceptual exploration grounded in our ability to deliver. You must be comfortable driving the work from safe, foundational ideas (“mild”) to boundary‑pushing, disruptive concepts (“wild”), ensuring we explore the full limits of what is possible before refining for execution.
Orchestrate a seamless story across all physical touchpoints. This includes directing the strategy for in‑store digital screens, physical print collateral, and subtle experiential details (texture, lighting, flow).
Partner lock‑step with the senior copywriter. You will work as a cohesive unit to ensure the visual environment and the narrative voice are inextricably linked and mutually elevating.
Distinct from one‑off installations, you will establish a robust, scalable design system for our client's stores. This system must be rigid enough to maintain brand consistency but flexible enough to adapt to different footprints and markets.
Infuse physical spaces with expressive design elements. You will determine how typography, color, and animation live within a three‑dimensional architecture.
Strong knowledge of visual design, user‑centered experience design, interaction design, brand development, and the creative process.
Ability to lead internal teams with strategic vision and creative inspiration.
An entrepreneurial and independent spirit.
A diverse sense of taste with the knowledge necessary to apply to various challenges.
Bring deep empathy to the users you design for, the brands you help evolve, and the internal teams you lead and collaborate with.
Innovation and experimental thinking that generate innovative thinking.
WHAT YOU BRING
8+ years in creative leadership, specifically with a focus on Experiential Design, Environmental Design, or Retail Innovation.
A deep understanding of how humans move through and interact with physical spaces. You can read floor plans as well as you can critique a layout.
A portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to translate brand strategy into immersive physical experiences. Must show examples of work scaling from concept to built reality.
Familiarity with material fabrication, print production techniques, and digital display technologies.
Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with spatial tools (SketchUp, Rhino, or similar) is a strong plus.

About the Role
MediaMonks is looking to a Senior Creative to add to the global superband of creatives. In this role, you'll provide our clients with creative decks, ideas and direction, bringing forth award-winning products and web campaigns for one of the world's leading tech brands.
We are looking for a conceptual thinker and creative leader who is native to the worlds of both digital web and artificial intelligence. You are a storyteller, a technologist, and a taste-maker who understands that a great prompt can be as powerful as a great headline.
As a Creative Director at Monks, you will be the driving force behind our creative output, translating our clients' complex technologies into compelling, human-centric stories. You will lead teams of designers, writers, and other designers, guiding them to create work that is not only beautiful and effective but also genuinely innovative. You are both a visionary who can imagine the future of brand expression and a hands-on leader who can guide a team to bring that vision to life, pixel by pixel, prompt by prompt.
Responsibilities:
As a Creative Director at a global creative production agency, life's a pitch: you engage projects for a living and relay responsibilities to others once the ball is rolling in the right (creative) direction.
You'll work together with the business team to identify the local market's need for our services.
You'll also own the creative execution of projects, seeing them through from pitch to final delivery.
You'll be collaborating with creatives, copywriters, designers, animators, developers as well as with PMs, operations managers and a lot more talent from all over the world.
You'll create not just what the client asked for but what their needs, producing beautifully designed decks that are in line with the project's objectives and requirements.
Working on multiple projects at once, you go above and beyond each brief to push what's possible on both a creative and technical level.
Whether it's through programmatic targeting or dynamic content, your job is to get the right message across to the right audience(s).
You bring top-notch production thinking to the table and provide creative consultation when it comes to the nitty-gritty of cutting-edge campaigns.
As a Senior Creative at MediaMonks, you're part of the most awesome production agency on the planet, operating as ‘one office across 12 locations' with an incredible in-house team of 3000+ Monks and counting.
Pitching directly to our clients, you'll be shaping and selling concepts for anything (digital) from rich media to display ads to brand content and social media campaigns to film production.
About You The essentials:
You have 5+ years of experience in a creative leadership at a top-tier digital agency or tech company, with a proven track record of leading teams and shipping excellent work.
Your portfolio demonstrates not just beautiful campaigns, but true conceptual thinking, a deep understanding of digital platforms, and a tangible curiosity for technology and new forms of interaction.
You are fluent in the language and practice of modern AI. You have demonstrable, hands-on experience with generative AI platforms (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Runway, Pika) and a strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs).
You are a natural leader-articulate, empathetic, and able to inspire a team to do the best work of their careers.

You have a low ego and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, working alongside some of the most demanding and innovative clients in the world.
Make no mistake, this role requires you to put pen to paper and come up with buzzworthy ideas, and have the ability to present them in equally compelling decks.
You will take ownership for the entire campaign, providing strong leadership and direction throughout all stages of a project, including the management of a wider team of creatives, designers, illustrators and animators.
You know how to show leadership without a show of force, giving our (remote working) in-house teams a clear creative direction and ownership over their projects.
You can independently lead fast-paced pitches but also love going the extra mile when painstakingly pushing running projects to perfection.
You're confident leading different types of work spanning from digital and social campaigns to platforms and websites, and installations.
With strong pitching and presentation skills, you can represent Monks by showcasing our cases, capabilities and culture to clients.
