Description
As the Creative Technology Director, you will be responsible for identifying transformative technologies, within Apple and in the industry, that unlock new capabilities and drive high value experimentation that aligns with Marcom's long-term strategy and positions the organization at the forefront of creative and technical excellence in marketing. As the most senior creative lead of the team, you'll be responsible for guiding them in exploring new spaces, validating opportunities across AI, Spatial, and emerging technologies, and building strong relationships across the company. You'll also deliver proof-of-concepts that inspire future products and marketing initiatives for customer-facing experiences and internal operations. By establishing strong processes for experimentation, application, and handoff, you will ensure the team maximizes innovation without becoming mired in long-term product development. This role requires an experienced strategic thinker who can identify business needs, influence executives, collaborate effectively across Marcom and Apple, and champion a culture of curiosity, agility, and continuous invention.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee a multidisciplinary team of creative technologists, artists, and designers working across AI, 3D, AR/VR, spatial computing, and emerging technologies.
Foster a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and continuous learning across the creative technology team.
Partner with producer lead to establish frameworks for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing new technologies with the highest strategic potential.
Drive the creation of advanced prototypes, experiments, and conceptual explorations that shape future marketing and product opportunities across Marcom.
Define and lead the long-term creative technology vision and innovation roadmap for the Creative Technology group in partnership with ILT and Marcom leadership.
Influence and align senior leadership, creating consensus around the opportunities and application of new and emerging technologies across Marcom.
Ensure teams maintain a focus on rapid exploration and concept development
Build and maintain strong partnerships with Marcom teams and across Apple to transition validated concepts into scalable development tracks.
Partner with producer lead to oversee resourcing, operations, and portfolio management for all creative technology initiatives.
Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors, engineering partners, and technology platforms to accelerate innovation.
Develop senior leadership talent, mentoring managers and strengthening the team's leadership pipeline.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 15+ years of experience in a creative tech/ R&D environment, with a proven ability for shaping and scaling emerging technology practices across organizations.
At least 5 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams within a creative agency, product organization, or technology-forward environment.
Demonstrated excellence in strategic planning, organizational design, and senior leadership, with a track record of growing high-performing teams and capabilities.
A diverse portfolio showcasing oversight of complex web and native iOS initiatives, including the successful strategic application of generative AI.
Proven ability for evaluating, adopting, and operationalizing emerging technologies at scale to meet evolving needs of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to align stakeholders, build trust, and influence decision-making across all levels.
Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation efforts, with the ability to define, validate, and guide opportunities towards execution and implementation across an organization.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $263,100 and $420,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Motion & Video
Lead creative for video content: product demos, announcements, behind-the-scenes, and feature spotlights
Oversee storyboarding, scripting, filming, directing, and editing
Guide motion graphics and animation that showcase robot capabilities and product experiences
Design & Brand Identity
Manage media kit requests, our Design Language System assets, and campaign-specific visuals + iconography
Design physical touchpoints such as robot beta program welcome kits, packaging, and printed materials
Ensure design consistency and quality across all internal and external outputs
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Management
Partner closely with engineering / product to translate technical features into clear, intuitive assets
Manage creative vendors as needed (production crews, animators, designers)
What You'll Bring
4+ years of experience in creative direction, visual design, or film/video at a high-growth startup, agency, or product-focused company
A world-class portfolio showcasing brand, video, motion, and design work
Strong creative vision paired with the ability to execute quickly and independently
Deep expertise in video production (storyboarding, cinematography, directing, editing, sound)
Strong design skills: graphic design, layout, typography, color, and brand systems
Ability to create content that blends technical clarity with emotional resonance
A high bar for craft, detail, and polish - with a willingness to iterate rapidly
Nice to Have
Passion for robotics, emerging technology, or storytelling around complex products
Experience building or evolving a brand from zero-to-one
Motion design and animation chops (After Effects, Blender, etc.)
Experience designing physical or packaging experiences
Familiarity with robotics, hardware, AI, or industrial design
Ability to direct photoshoots or run a small in-house production environment
Experience managing or mentoring other creatives

CreativeDirector Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CreativeDirector to join our team to lead our Brand Design and Creative Services team. As we embark on a brand and consumer-first marketing transformation, this role will play a critical role in driving our marketing efforts and in redefining McAfee to consumers. This role reports to the CMO. This is a Hybrid position located in either San Jose, CA or Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 1 to 6 times a month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to one of the two locations and are not offering relocation assistance at this time. About The Role
Own McAfee's visual identity, partnering with Brand Marketing to translate our brand promise to consumers into a powerful core logo and overall design system
Ensure that our design framework and architecture is comprehensive and cohesive to enable activation across all touchpoints both consistently and uniquely based on the audience/platform
Develop award-winning creative campaigns for McAfee with internal teams and agency partners, bringing the brand to life in new and powerful ways to our consumers
Develop 360° upper funnel, mid funnel, and lower funnel video and digital marketing campaigns, considering stakeholder briefs and insights
Tailor team structure and strategy to an understanding of format and functional needs to drive the greatest impact across a variety of marketing channels and audiences, encompassing social, communications, email, campaign and partner needs
Build and nurture a team of diverse designers (graphic, production, motion, etc.) and video producers who can bring the brand and stakeholder vision and strategy to life
Act as a brand steward to ensure our design identity is properly understood and implemented across and outside of the organization- including existing and prospective employee branding, across our partner ecosystem, and throughout our communication channels
Demonstrate thought leadership and early adoption of AI and other efficiency tools to enable greater productivity and more agile and expansive testing and optimization
Balance a design led point of view with the flexibility to deliver against stakeholder needs that may require creative solutions
Prioritize design resourcing and initiatives based on impact to the business, consistently testing and revising as core organization prioritize shift
About You
10+ years leading powerful creative campaigns and design teams
Deep experience in creative strategy, creative direction, concept development and execution across upper, mid and lower funnel campaigns
Ability to direct photography and video shoots, with prior onsite and post-production experience.
Growth mindset eager to embrace new tools and platforms to enable a strategy vs. production-oriented team culture and operating mode
Experience managing creative agency partners and freelancers to ramp up and down based on seasonality and campaign cycles
Proven impact implementing design and AI tools to drive incremental value and impact
Ability to assess and communicate the impact of operational and structural improvements
Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively across multiple teams and disciplines
Experience within scaled cross channel, global businesses
Experience working on/with digital products and services a plus
