Position Summary:
The Creative Services Director leads the creation, execution, and management of compelling on-air, digital, and promotional content that aligns with the station's mission to engage listeners, communicate brand identity, and support ministry outreach. This role combines strategic oversight of production and imaging with hands-on creative development across broadcast, podcast, web, and social platforms. Through voice work, content production, and public engagement, the Creative Services Director ensures the station remains relevant, relatable, and mission-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
* Host and Produce On-Air & Podcast Content: Lead live or voice-tracked shows, community affairs programs, and podcasts, delivering weather, news, interviews, and relevant content that aligns with the station's voice and mission.
* Oversee Station Imaging & Audio Production: Create and manage branded audio elements such as promos, IDs, underwriting spots, listener stories, and fundraising materials to keep station sound fresh and mission-focused.
* Create Digital, Social, and Multimedia Content: Produce and post content for social media, website, and streaming platforms, including audio, video, and visual graphics that engage audiences across channels.
* Lead Visual & Event Content Creation: Serve as photographer and visual storyteller for concerts, events, and campaigns, editing and distributing media to enhance brand presence.
* Support Fundraising & Community Engagement: Participate in on-air and in-person fundraising and outreach events, creating content and representing the station with professionalism and warmth.
* Ensure Technical Quality & Compliance: Operate control boards and broadcast equipment, monitor technical performance, and ensure compliance with FCC and station standards.
* Collaborate & Lead Creatively: Work closely with programming and engagement teams, contribute to meetings and planning, and guide part-time staff or interns on creative execution and brand consistency.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent and related experience in communications, broadcast journalism, or media production

Responsibilities
* Create, lead, and execute the brand marketing strategies for KMBC 9, and associated digital platforms, including Very Local.
* Partner closely with the KCWE Promotions Manager to ensure cohesive, strategic branding and promotion across both stations.
* Develop innovative, multi-platform strategies to grow brand awareness, audience engagement, and ratings.
* Oversee the creative team in producing brand-focused station image, news, weather, targeted special reports, daily topicals, digital/streaming, programming, and special event campaigns.
* Oversee the Commercial Production team to ensure the creation of impactful, results-driven marketing for local advertisers.
* Inspire, mentor, and grow the creative skillsets of the Creative Services and Commercial Production teams.
* Serve as liaison with networks, syndicators, and the Director of Community Partnerships on promotional initiatives and station public service.
* Manage promotional inventory across KMBC, digital platforms, and multicast channels.
* Develop, manage, and monitor the annual department budget and expenses.
Requirements
* 5+ years of experience in television station marketing, promotion, or brand management.
* Proven ability to lead creatively while using research and data to achieve station goals.
* Strong writing, producing, and storytelling skills.
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, videography, photography, WideOrbit, and ENPS.
* Ability to conceive, evaluate, and refine creative concepts and graphic designs for internal and external branding.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with newsroom leadership and interdepartmental teams.
* Valid driver's license (hire contingent on good driving record).
* Relevant college degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
* Equivalent military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) and related experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
+ Support the creation and execution of integrated campaign concepts in partnership with copywriters, strategists, and producers
+ Develop campaign concepts and brand messaging rooted in insight, strategy, and creative ambition.
+ Translate strategic insights into compelling visual ideas across touchpoints including static, motion, social, and experiential
+ Apply a systems-thinking mindset to ensure visual consistency across the funnel
+ Partner with copywriters to create cohesive, integrated creative solutions.
+ Contribute to brainstorming, idea generation, and cross-functional collaboration.
+ Create mood boards, storyboards, and design explorations to bring ideas to life
+ Craft art direction that is distinctive, brand-right, and adaptable across formats
+ Contribute to brand identity development, visual systems, and content design as needed
+ Present ideas internally and in select client settings with clarity and confidence
+ Participate in creative reviews and apply feedback constructively to elevate the work
+ Stay current on trends in language, culture, media, and audience behavior.
+ Support junior creatives and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment
Basic Qualifications
+ A portfolio that showcases conceptually driven and visually compelling work across platforms and mediums
+ 2+ years of experience as an art director or Designer in an agency, studio, or brand environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to visually express big ideas with clarity and craft Ability to write in different brand voices, adapting tone and style to fit audience and channel.
+ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma (motion design or AI tools are a plus)
+ Experience developing campaigns across digital, social, film, OOH, and experiential formats
+ Solid understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and composition
+ Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines.
+ Presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate creative rationale
+ Curiosity about culture, technology, and emerging creative platforms
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working efficiently under deadlines.
+ A positive, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
