ABOUT THE ROLE
CountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender headquartered in Plano, TX, is seeking a Senior CreditAnalyst to help grow our Originations Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office. The Senior CreditAnalyst is responsible for reviewing loan documentation and determining if loan applications and approvals meet program guidelines. The Senior CreditAnalyst collaborates with loan officers to ensure a smooth process for borrowers whenever possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews loan submissions from Loan Officers and Loan Processors
Calculates qualification ratios for loans
Ensure loans meet program requirements
Answers questions for CreditAnalysts, Loan Officers, Lending Associates, and Loan Processors
Trains and mentors Lending Associates and CreditAnalysts
Conducts trainings with Regional Sales Managers as requested
Reviews income, asset, property, and other documentation to ensure loan applications comply with guidelines
Reviews surveys, title policies, and appraisals
Strong understanding of home only lending
Strong understanding of land home lending for factory-built housing
Interfaces with 3rd party QC vendors to ensure loans originated met established guideline
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers
Reviews credit bureaus ensuring borrower credit meets program guidelines
Additional tasks as requested including but not limited to training others, building process training guides, application entry, and other tasks upon request

What you'll do as a Credit Specialist:
Negotiate and implement workout plans with the assigned accounts to amortize past due balances in a firm and consistent manner obligating both McLane and the account to that plan; obtain security instruments when deemed necessary (i.e. guarantees, PMSA/GSA, collateral and corporate/personal financial data) to mitigate associated risks. The workout plan or other options must be suitable to management and the customer to obtain payment over a reasonable time period.
Independently negotiate payment from delinquent customers to maintain receivables within target by ensuring overall compliance with credit terms.
Set up short-term notes to accommodate terms compliance with approval of Senior Credit/Collections Manager and/or Director-Credit/Collections.
Document all customer correspondence and all customer contacts in Customer Accounts Comments Area within the Oracle JDE systems.
Monitor delinquent accounts daily to ensure compliance to pay plans and not allow any further exposure to MFS.
Seek assistance from Senior Credit/Collections Manager and/or Director - Credit/Collections when necessary.
Provide data to our bankruptcy counsel when an account files for bankruptcy. Work closely with the Senior Credit/Collections Manager to document all legal correspondence and track the court activity and rulings.
Analyze activity of assigned accounts on a regular basis to identify incorrect transactions or account coding that result in service charges, bad debt write-offs and keeping the accounts clean.
Request financial statements monthly or annually from our top largest exposure accounts as well as marginal or defaulting accounts. Enter the financial data to the Financial Analysis Spreadsheet for review with the Senior Credit/Collections Manager and/or Director-Credit/Collections.
Periodically interact with senior levels of McLane Foodservice's corporate management and frequently interact with multi-levels of McLane Foodservice's field management.
Communicate frequently with external customers while diplomatically representing McLane Foodservice's collection position.
Perform special projects as requested by management in a timely manner.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Credit Specialist\:
Undergraduate degree in finance/accounting preferred (but not required) with minimum of 4-5 years of progressively responsible credit and collections experience. Demonstrated general business knowledge is essential.
Excellent analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong personal computer skills are required.
Must have a good understanding of the federal and state laws pertaining to credit, collections, bankruptcies, and good understanding of A/R and credit procedures, as well as, computerized accounts receivable systems.

Location: On site in Memphis, TN, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, Charlotte, NC, New Orleans, LA, or Dallas, TX The CreditAnalyst will work directly with the deal team in analyzing, underwriting and monitoring all credit facilities within their portfolio. As a CreditAnalyst, the individual will learn the basics of deal making and loan structures while being exposed to other departments within the Bank. The CreditAnalyst is an excellent first position in banking that paves the way to numerous other opportunities within First Horizon including sales, credit, relationship management, loan review or other similar positions. Work with the Portfolio Manager (PM) and Relationship Manager (RM) in completing at least 80% of the credit analysis. The credit analysis is Commercial Banking's primary document for analyzing and underwriting all new and outstanding loans. The creditanalyst performs an in depth analysis on the borrower's ability to repay focusing on the company and owner's background, recent and historical financial performance, guarantor's (if applicable) financial condition, collateral performance, risk rating, risk-adjusted return on capital, and several other factors related to First Horizon's underwriting policies and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work directly with PM, RM and clients to address needs efficiently and accurately
* Spread financial statements
* Provide advanced analysis in assessing and evaluating current and new business opportunities
* Interact with clients and LOB leaders through email, phone conversations, field exams, bank group meetings, etc.
* Project manage complex credit requests and analyses and see them through to completion
* Identify emerging industry trends and proactively monitor the risk in the current book of business
* Attend credit meetings and learn to properly present modifications and new to bank opportunities to internal credit partners for final approval
Knowledge and Skills:
* Critical thinker possessing superior analytical abilities with the ability to reach logical conclusions based on the available information
* Microsoft Office: Strong excel and presentation building skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects, while maintaining high attention to detail
