Job Description
As a Manager / Senior Manager in our Tax Credits and Incentives Advisory (TCIA) Practice, you will draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide tax equity investment consulting services for clients. You will be a leader in a team comprised of professionals with significant experience in the credits and incentives space. We are looking for someone with Energy Credits experience.
Cherry Bekaert is aware that significant expertise is required in the market to structure renewable energy credit transactions to maximize monetization of these attributes. Prior to the enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) maximizing project value in for energy credit transactions required complex partnership structures splitting tax attributes from cash. Tax equity investors, private equity investors, and developers require detailed partnership tax models to value their investment.
The IRA created new mechanisms to monetize renewable energy tax credits. Tax-exempt entities can now monetize investments in renewable energy projects via Elective Pay (Direct Pay) under IRC 6417. The IRA also created IRC 6418 which allows these credits to be transferred to unrelated taxpayer for cash.
At Cherry Bekaert you will work with clients across a multitude of industries, and assist them in understanding, navigating, and utilizing energy tax credits. You will do this via established monetization structures such as tax equity, as well as emerging monetization opportunities provided by the IRA under IRC 6417 & IRC 6418.
You will be one of the leaders of a small team with significant industry deal and modeling experience in order to build out Cherry Bekaert’s renewable energy practice. Cherry Bekaert is interested in providing tax equity investment opportunities to its current client base as well as guiding both buy side & sell side clients navigate transferability.
What you bring to the role:
6+ years' experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns
Experience completing the relevant tax forms associated with renewable energy credit such as Form 3800 & Form 3468
Deep understanding of renewable energy assets and their eligibility to generate a credit
Due diligence experience for buy/sell side transferability transactions
Familiarity of the financing structures and implications of their utilization for energy credits
Knowledge and understanding of the Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship (PWA) requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
Certified or in the process of obtaining a CPA, enrolled agent, or other appropriate certification
Financial modeling expertise
Travel up to 10%

The Credit Monitoring Analyst II supports the commercial credit monitoring and portfolio management for the Bank through the review and analysis of borrower and guarantor financial information, testing of financial covenants, and post-closing loan review to ensure alignment between loan approval, documentation, and tracking system.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Accurately calculate financial ratios and monitor Borrower's covenants for compliance as outlined in loan documents.
* Effectively communicate all internal communication of the borrower's performance and trend analysis to the appropriate parties.
* Completes post booking reviews on commercial loans to ensure accuracy of loan documents as outlined in the credit approval and ensure internal tracking of covenants are accurately built for internal tracking purposes.
* Analyze and assess financial statements and credit history of existing and potential clients.
* Provide additional support to Credit Administration as it relates to special projects as assigned.
* Comply with all credit administration policies and procedures.
* Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.
* Provide back-up assistance to other team members at peak volume times, including but not limited to reviewing and analyzing Borrowing Base Certificates and reviewing financial statements for accuracy and advancement of next due date.
* Mentorship of less experienced Credit Monitoring Analysts.
* Complete Moody's Credit Modules, as assigned.
