Credit Union of Texas company history timeline

1934

ACU was founded on November 6, 1934.

1949

The Credit Union that Cares Since 1949, Associated Credit Union of Texas has worked to develop life-long bonds with our members.

1951

Since 1951, generations of directors, volunteers, committee members and staff have built upon the original vision of our founders to provide a place where our members can borrow money at reasonable rates and earn money receiving competitive dividends.

1960

By the mid 1960’s the credit union hired its first full-time manager.

1978

The first branch office was opened in the Springfield Kraft Foods plant in 1978.

1989

- Adopted by the Board of Directors on June 1989.

From these humble beginnings the credit union grew and moved to larger offices over the years until finally constructing our 2140 Gollihar Rd. office in 1989.

1995

In 1995, in order to reflect the nationwide direction of membership, the Credit Union adopted Kraft America as its name.

1999

A community field of membership was approved in 1999, and later expanded, providing membership eligibility to all who live or work in Dallas, Rockwall and Collin Counties of Texas.

2004

In February 2004, ACU embarked upon a major building project to update, improve and expand its headquarters by eighty-five percent.

2016

In 2016, the Board of Directors voted to change our name from Corpus Christi City Employees Credit Union to Texas Bridge Credit Union.

2021

The GO Federal Credit Union merger in 2021, added 15,000 new members, over $135 million in assets and new products and services for all members.

2022

Petition information can be requested from David DeAnda and all nominations by petition forms must be completed and filed with Joel Mueller, Secretary of the Board of Directors by January 8, 2022.
