Our maintenance department consists of a team of skilled Maintenance Engineers who are skilled trade generalists with some level of experience in Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing. Aide and assist individuals and groups utilizing the facility and programs within the policies, procedures, and guidelines set by the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Must attend and participate in all required staff meetings, in-service training and emergency procedure sessions, complete all training session requirements, and attend all meetings that are scheduled by the Head Lifeguard, Graduate Assistant or Assistant Director Aquatics.
Additional Duties
Responsible to understand and follow the standard operating procedures outlined in the employee manual. Required to be on time. Absences must receive prior approval of supervisor. Responsible to inform supervisor prior to running out of supplies. Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with facility staff, groups, associations, agencies and individuals. Staff is representing the UNO Campus Recreation on and off the job when on UNO payroll - Staff are asked not to wear staff shirts or uniforms in any non-tasteful establishments or manner.

The Financial Wellness Specialist plays a critical dual role in supporting first- and second-year students' success by integrating financial literacy education with academic and personal coaching. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students who are William H. Thompson Scholars experiencing financial barriers or personal challenges that may impact their ability to persist at UNO.
The Specialist provides one-on-one student support, teaches college readiness seminars, and collaborates and creates outreach programming focused financial wellness. The Thompson Learning Community (TLC) is designed to promote the academic success of UNO students receiving the Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship. The TLC office is a dynamic area with a great deal of student interaction with 1300+ students at UNO. TLC provides Buffett Scholars with a sequence of common courses, special activities, advisement, and other opportunities to connect with faculty and peers during their time at UNO. This office also provides support for the First Year Experience Seminar Planning grant, prioritizing innovative, scalable delivery of essential transitional content, ensuring access to best practices for student success for all incoming first-time students.
