Creighton University School of Dentistry is seeking a motivated individual to serve as Chair of the Department of Oral Surgery to oversee ongoing currency of the department's curricular content as well as participate in the delivery of the didactic, laboratory and clinical curriculum within the school's pre-doctoral clinic model. Responsibilities also include those administrative duties and service in support of the department, school and university expected and associated with the Chair position.
The 12 month- tenure-track position will work with a team of dedicated faculty who are building on a rich legacy of excellence in dental education and expanding our capacity as a national resource in the dental profession.
Primary appointment will be in the Department of Oral Surgery. Academic rank and salary will be based upon qualifications.
This is a Clinician Educator, tenure-track position. Creighton is a Catholic and Jesuit comprehensive university committed to excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
Required:
DDS or DMD degree from an ADA CODA accredited institution or an equivalent degree from an international program combined
with
an ADA CODA accredited certificate of completion in Oral Surgery; or a DDS or DMD degree from an ADA CODA accredited institution
with
ADA CODA accredited post graduate training in Advanced General Dentistry or demonstrated oral surgery experience deemed commensurate with post-graduate training.
Successful completion of Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination or the Integrated National Board Dental Examination prior to the date of hire.
Candidates must possess an unrestricted Nebraska Dental License or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Nebraska Dental License in a category for which they are eligible and also acquire credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems.
Candidates must also possess strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.
Preferred qualifications
Specialty certificate in Oral Surgery from an ADA CODA accredited Oral Surgery program.
Certificate from an ADA CODA accredited post graduate program in General Dentistry (AEGD/GPR); or a multi-year general dentistry commitment as part of military service with experiential evidence of course assignments in clinical, laboratory, classroom teaching support of oral surgery curriculum.
Prior full-time or >50 % dental academic position with experiential evidence of course assignments in clinical, laboratory, classroom teaching support of oral surgery curriculum.

Essential Functions:
· Dispense or supervise the dispensation of medications and related supplies, according to physicians' prescriptions.
· Review prescriptions for accuracy and authenticity.
· Complete Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) on each prescription.
· Compound medications and prepare special solutions.
· Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
· Recommend drug therapy changes when appropriate.
· Educate patients and staff on drug therapies.
· Ensure the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
· Support the technician as needed to include similar duties.
· Support the pharmacy by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
· Help health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests.
· Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
· Provide assistance with other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.
Education & Experience:
· BS or Pharm.D. earned from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
· 2 years' experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to operate computers and calculators.
· Ability to use a keyboard.
· Job required continuous reading skills, verbal communication skills, including excellent telephone etiquette and written communication skills.
