The Audiology Assistant will work under the supervision of a Hearing Aid Specialist to assist with patient care, administrative tasks, and equipment maintenance, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for patients and staff. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare patients for audiological testing, including explaining procedures and answering basic questions. - Clean, maintain, and calibrate audiology equipment, ensuring proper functionality and hygiene standards. - Manage patient records, schedule appointments, and handle billing or insurance documentation as needed. - Provide basic troubleshooting and maintenance instructions to patients for hearing aids. - Order supplies and maintain inventory of audiology materials. - Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, and managing correspondence. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in a healthcare-related field preferred. - Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting is a plus, but not required. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages. - Basic computer proficiency for scheduling and record-keeping. - Ability to follow instructions precisely and work collaboratively in a team environment. - Knowledge of hearing aids or audiology equipment is an advantage, though training will be provided. Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. - Capable of lifting up to 20 pounds (e.g., equipment or supplies). Work Environment: This position is based in a clinical or office setting with regular patient interaction.
