The Opportunity
Homeward Bound is Marin County's primary provider of housing and shelter for single individuals and families experiencing homelessness, offering short- and long-term supportive housing, job-training and placement, and services. Our mission is “Opening Doors to Safety, Dignity, Hope, and Independence.” We are looking for the right person to join our family program team.
Principal Responsibilities
Housing focused case management services up to 8 families within supportive housing.
Address all issues that may be barriers to obtaining housing: chronic homelessness, mental health, physical health concerns; substance use disorders; under-employment; lack of income and other barriers.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with Family programs assistant around Coordinated Entry tasks such as Family Assessments, Updating and inputting information on Housing path list, and connecting with community partners to update pertinent information.
Provide services and resources which promote housing navigation and support individual goals of increasing economic independence and maintaining stable housing.
Ensure all shelter vacancies are filled in a timely manner and work closely with CE providers to ensure referrals are qualified and ongoing.
Work closely with families to remove housing barriers i.e. employment, debt, savings, etc.
Determine and document eligibility for the program according to program guidelines.
Coordinate housing placements in partnership with community partners working with families experiencing homelessness.
Address barriers using the principles of Housing First and offer supportive services on a voluntary basis.
Provide CalAIM services and ensure documentation requirements are met monthly
Manage conflicts and crisis situations as they arise.
Provide supportive counseling, guidance, supervision, & referrals to community resources.
Help residents to manage and build life skills
Attend and participate in staff meetings, supervision, and training
In partnership with family programs and volunteer manager, create, manage and lead volunteer led events to support family programs
Provide emergency services as needed, as well as ongoing case management which may include interacting with law enforcement, psychiatric services, and other community agencies and staff
In partnership with other shelter staff, ensure family program spaces are clean and accessible and create a warm and welcoming environment

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
Education or Training Equivalent To:

2 + years' experience working with under-resourced, low-income populations; experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness desired
Experience in residential programs and/or housing programs
Working knowledge of Social Security income (SSI, SSDI, SDI)

Participate in hands on production and on the job training to kitchen employees, students and volunteers while working in the production, catering, and shelter kitchens.
Mentor transitional employees as they prepare and order food in the shelter kitchens.
Produce food of consistently high quality, taste, and presentation.
Expedite production and service during periods of demand as needed.
Guide kitchen employees in maintaining a consistent clean environment including all equipment, walk-ins, floors, hoods, etc.
Training Program Support:
Provide hands-on direct training with students and employees on core kitchen competencies.
Train students and employees on following, modifying, and adapting recipes to meet production needs.
Teach culinary classroom lectures, as applicable.
Help students and transitional employees with job search including application process, as applicable.
Participate in bi-monthly Job Readiness Assessment (JRA) with each student, as applicable.
Maintains and models confidentiality related to all client, student, and resident services as well as any personnel-related issues.

Responsibilities
The Clinic/Therapy Aide II will perform necessary clerical duties and with assist with patient treatments as directed. May accompany patients to appointments. Work is full time during the weekdays, Monday-Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm with some overtime. Assists with the implementation of patient treatment programs in the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech/Education Departments according to legal guidelines and under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist. Requires lifting, handling, carrying and manipulating patients, equipment and supplies weighing up to 150 pounds.
Requires ability to use proper lifting techniques, good balance, and sufficient strength to provide patients with virtually all levels of assistance from standby to maximum assistance. Must have adequate endurance, motor, visual and cognitive skills to demonstrate and/or assist with therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living, social skills, transfers and handling therapeutic equipment.
Performs toilet and chair transfers without assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques. Transfer techniques include standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Patients requiring moderate to maximum assistance and weighing over 200 pounds are lifted and/or transferred by two persons.
Performs documentation such as daily progress notes, treatment modules, and behavior modification documentation. Performs organizational/administrative projects such as filing and light typing. Sets up and dismantles patient charts in a timely manner.

Facilitate maintenance needs in collaboration with shelter program manager and maintenance crew.
Maintain a working knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards to ensure a safe work environment for participants and all personnel. Alert supervisors in case of emergency.
Manages shelter intake calls, coordinates weekly intake scheduling with supervisors, and completes all required paperwork at intake while reviewing policies and procedures with incoming residents.

Take necessary actions to promote a supportive community environment.

Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Duties: The Maintenance Supervisor must possess the ability to perform a variety of skilled duties in the maintenance/repair and modification of equipment, HVAC units, building's utility systems, and grounds; construct various items requiring carpentry and wood finishing skills; follow a written planned maintenance program on various mechanical, electrical, and systems equipment, as well as the necessary documentation as required in permanent files. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for managing the housekeeping department. The Housekeeping department maintains the facility in a clean and safe environment for clients, staff and visitors.
Schedule: Full-Time
Qualifications:
A high school graduate/GED.
A valid California driver's license.
Three to five years' experience in operation and maintenance of physical plant in health care setting or major industrial complex.
Proficient in at least two building trades, with strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Title: Program Director
Job Duties: The Program Director directs and coordinates the rehabilitation program. The Program Director ensures compliance with established policies and procedures of the overall program and timely completion of respective reporting requirements. They will ensure all clients receive the full spectrum of mental health services during their length of stay and treatment based on objectives as identified in their treatment plan. The Program Director will provide in service training as needed and supervise program staff.

Qualifications:
Must meet regulatory educational standards.
Bachelor's degree and/or licensed nurse/licensed clinician. The program director shall also have at least two years' experience or training in a mental health setting, one year of which shall include experience or training in program development for persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities.
Demonstrated knowledge of DSM-5, psycho-social rehabilitation, and recovery principles.
Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements.
CCL License preferred.
