We are seeking a Landscape Lead to oversee and manage the company's lawn, landscaping, and porter crews. This role will be responsible for maintaining both commercial and residential properties, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general grounds clean-up.
The Landscape Lead must demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and an eye for detail. This position requires daily supervision of crew members, scheduling and coordinating work assignments, tracking timesheets, and ensuring that all landscaping and property clean-up projects are completed to company standards. The Landscape Lead will also utilize company software systems, including AppFolio for work orders and updates, and Google Drive/email for communication and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Execute, lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of lawn and landscaping crews.
Perform and oversee grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, planting, and property clean-up, across both commercial and residential properties.
Manage the porter position responsible for property clean-up, trash removal, and exterior upkeep.
Ensure all work is performed efficiently, safely, and to company quality standards.
Maintain timesheets for all crew employees (landscaping and porter).
Track equipment use, fuel, and supply costs; submit records to the Construction and Maintenance Director.
Inspect properties regularly to ensure grounds and exteriors are well-maintained.
Communicate with property management staff regarding special requests, work orders, or landscaping needs.
Utilize AppFolio to update work orders, property notes, and service requests.
Use Google Drive/email for communication, reporting, and documentation.
Assist with training new crew members on proper landscaping, clean-up techniques, and safety protocols.
Seasonal & Preventative Duties
Plan and oversee seasonal landscaping projects such as:
Spreading mulch, gravel, or soil.
Trimming, planting, and replacing trees, shrubs, and flowers.
Grass fertilization, aeration, and seeding.
Power washing of sidewalks, patios, and exterior surfaces.
Snow removal, salting, and other inclement weather readiness tasks.
Collaborate with the Construction and Maintenance Director to develop and execute annual project schedules.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of landscaping equipment, trailers, and vehicles.
Ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working order; coordinate repairs when needed.
Support other maintenance teams when landscaping or porter resources are required.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Construction and Maintenance Director.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Vocational or trade school certification in landscaping, horticulture, or related field preferred.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Required:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or property management.
Strong knowledge of lawn care, plant maintenance, and landscaping equipment operation.
Preferred:
Prior crew lead or supervisory experience.
Experience managing exterior clean-up crews (e.g., porters or janitorial staff).
Project planning and scheduling experience.
Other Requirements
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (CDL a plus).
Basic computer skills, including AppFolio, Google Workspace, and digital communication tools.
Ability to lift 50lbs. Able to stand, walk, and move with equipment.
Ability to lead, motivate, and work as part of a team.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Strong customer service and professionalism when interacting with tenants, clients, and staff.
Military experience with transferable knowledge, skills and abilities is welcomed and will be considered in lieu of directly related civilian experience.

Primarily outdoors, with occasional office and warehouse duties.

Standard schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Additional hours may be required during peak seasons, inclement weather, or for urgent property needs (including evenings or weekends).

Position Summary:
Provides direction to crew in a fast-paced environment that can range from small unique sites to large sites that are over a million square feet. Responsible for meeting customer needs and exceeding customer expectations during assigned shift. Provides guidance and related instruction to the Crew, works with management to support and communicate staffing issues and or changes, ensures that services meet required Company standards, and that work is performed safely and effectively. Completes daily quality control inspections. Leads are the customers "go to" for questions, concerns and request
The Crew Lead perform site Crew tasks and ensure Crew tasks are fully executed at site.
At least 3 years of janitorial lead or supervisory experience of at least 8 employees in a commercial and/or industrial setting.
Interact with the client to provide professional and prompt customer service as needed.
Provide direction and task coordination for assigned Crew.
Ensure Crew members understand and are knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
The Crew Lead collaborates with Crew to ensure coordination and successful execution of daily operations and resolve deficiencies in a timely manner,
The Crew Lead assists Supervisor or Zone Manager with new hires and training.
Ensure team members have the information and tools to do their jobs effectively; provide clarity and support team members' success.
May assist Supervisor or Zone Manager with interviews and training.
The Crew Lead motivates crew; interacts regularly with crew members to provide support and clarity and leads by example.

Summary:
Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking a Construction Laborer to join our Heavy Civil Division. This position supports the successful completion of heavy highway, industrial, and commercial sitework projects. This position requires performing a variety of physical duties on active construction sites to support safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. Laborers work under the direction of the Foreman, following all safety standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working effectively in a team environment under varying weather and site conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform general heavy civil construction labor duties
* Operate hand and power tools in a safe and responsible manner
* Adhere to all company, local, and federal safety regulations and protocols to minimize risk to workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
* Take direction from the crew leader for assignments and job duties.
* Perform minor servicing maintenance or refer major problems to Foreman and Shop Manager.
* Remain aware of site conditions and report any hazards or issues to the lead or foreman promptly.
* Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers by showing respect, fostering teamwork, and supporting a collaborative and professional work environment.
* Complete any required documentation, such as incident reports or site logs, in accordance with company standards.
* Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Perform other physical tasks required to maintain the job site.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience performing similar key responsibilities.
* Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safety practices
* Must possess a valid driver's license with a motor vehicle report that is in good standing.
* Strong attention to safety and adherence to protocols.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
* Climbing: Must have the physical capability to safely climb into and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.
* Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.
* Balance: Including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.
* Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.
* Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.
* Awkward positions: Getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground.
* Heavy lifting: Awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulders, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
* Conditions: Work is performed outdoors in a heavy civil construction environment with exposure to uneven, rocky terrain, dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
Work Environment:
This position is predominantly outdoors in various weather conditions. The Construction Laborer must be prepared for changing environmental conditions and able to adjust to the demands of an active construction site.
* Physical stamina is required, as the role involves standing, climbing, and bending for extended periods.
* Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery in operation.

Picking up trash on properties.
Leaf removal.
Assist with trimming bushes and clean up.
Skills we're seeking:
At least 1 year of landscaping experience is preferred.
Management experience is preferred.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to pass a drug screen & background check.
Physical Requirements- Must be able to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, and talk or hear. Ability to lift 70 lbs.
