We are seeking a Crew Lead for our South Denver crew.
As the Crew Lead, you will perform a wide variety of projects for various clients across the city. This is a full time position with some weekends, nights, and overtime work required to accommodate our customers. Additional seasonal positions are available.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Use equipment to perform line painting, asphalt crack filling and sealcoating, power washing, epoxy flooring and more
Plan and facilitate the production of a high-quality project
Communicate job status daily with the Operations Manager
Maintain a safe, hazard-free job site
Additional tasks as required
Will start as a crew member and transition into lead once adequately trained

A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a reliable mode of transportation

Pre-Construction Planning

Develop Project Teams: Create and organize Integrated Project Teams (IPT) and establish Control Take-Off plans, ensuring all team members are aligned and prepared for project success.
Optimize Site Logistics: Review and develop comprehensive site logistics plans to streamline material flow, equipment usage, and workforce coordination. Plan and implement temporary power and lighting setups to support safe and efficient work environments throughout the project lifecycle.
Allocate Resources Effectively: Determine appropriate staffing for the scope of the project, ensuring optimal resource utilization and accountability.
Prioritize Safety Compliance: Review and refine the Project Master Safety Plan, ensuring all teams are prepared and all work aligns with safety standards and best practices. Oversee and enforce all on-site safety practices, fostering a culture of safety-first and compliance with industry standards.
Construction Execution
Strategic Scheduling: Develop and manage a 3 week look-ahead schedule, ensuring smooth project progression and proactive problem-solving.
Scope Allocation & Leadership: Assign clear scopes of work and responsibilities to Foremen, empowering them to lead their crews with confidence and precision.
Material Management: Ensure Foremen have accurate and up-to-date project documentation, plans, and information to maintain alignment across teams. Verify Foremen have the necessary tools, materials, and resources to execute tasks efficiently and effectively.
Project Oversight: Supervise the creation of as-built drawings, panel schedules, and project updates to ensure accurate and timely records, and assist in developing and resolving RFIs (Requests for Information) to address project challenges promptly.
Performance Tracking: Monitor production metrics, maintain daily reports, and verify timesheets to ensure accountability and accurate project tracking.
Quality Assurance: Provide consistent quality control by coordinating inspections with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and ensuring work meets or exceeds standards.
Project Closeout Responsibilities
As-Built Turnover: Ensure the accurate turnover of as-built drawings and panel schedules to the supervisor for final documentation.
Contractual Compliance: Verify that all contractual requirements are completed in full, meeting project specifications and quality standards.
Vendor Coordination: Schedule and confirm all vendor start-ups to ensure proper equipment operation and commissioning.
Tool Management: Oversee the transfer of tools and equipment back to the shop, ensuring accountability and proper storage.
Owner Stock: Verify that all owner stock is accounted for and appropriately transmitted to the general contractor (GC) or owner.
Closeout Collaboration: Actively participate in project closeout meetings to address any remaining issues, ensure proper handover, and facilitate lessons learned for future projects.

Summary:
Under general supervision , the position emphasizes and involves a variety of knowledge and abilities in the field of trail construction and maintenance to include: installation and maintenance of related infrastructure, carpentry, and operation of a motor vehicle, mechanized equipment and trailers. The Trails Assistant Crew Lead is expected to perform trail construction and maintenance under minimal supervision from the Crew Lead. Trails Assistant Crew Leads will assume leadership of trail crew in absence of the Trail Crew Lead. The position will assist the Trail Crew Lead in training and directing the work of people in the Crew Member position, Jr. Rangers, Ready to Work, youth corps., volunteers, and other groups and individuals assigned to trail projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports direction of crew member staff activities for the Trail program.
Helps Trail Crew Lead plan, develop, and relay daily work plans for trail crew and ensures that directions are being followed.
Assist the Trail Crew Lead in providing work leadership and training crew members and other work crews in essential skills necessary to safely and effectively perform a variety of trail construction and maintenance projects.
Remains alert to conditions and events occurring on the system and anticipates needed actions and reports such needs to the supervisor.
Conducts daily safety briefings and completes safety logs.
Supports Crew Lead in performing or coordinating necessary training for crew members including writing equipment maintenance protocols, safe equipment and tool operation and all safety precautions.
Ensures crews are conducting work efficiently, effectively, and in a safe and legal manner. Anticipates unsafe circumstances and takes precautions to prevent accidents.
Supports Crew Lead in resolving conflicts among crew members, maintains a positive team environment, and refers issues appropriately to their immediate supervisor
Work as part of a crew to perform routine, cyclic, and specialized maintenance, repair and reconstruction/construction on trail and related structures and facilities, including clearing (specialized), grading; path improvements, maintenance and repair; carpentry work; and use of associated tools and equipment.
Operate and use specialized equipment: chainsaws, excavators, power carriers, mowers, graders, skid steers, grinders and sharpening tools, etc.
Assist the Crew Lead in the organization and maintenance of tools and equipment in the field as well as general upkeep of the tools and materials
Coordinates and performs trail fieldwork and short-term deliverables to accomplish department goals.
Work as part of a team.
Conducts assigned responsibilities within the program to meet department goals, which may include trail maintenance and construction/replacement, project related outreach, implementation of the identified management practices, and monitoring.

One (1) year of experience in the trail maintenance, landscaping, construction or related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
