Your main goal as a Crawlspace Technician/Construction Laborer will be to help solve customers' problems regarding the condition of their crawl space and/or basement. You will be working closely with 1-2 other crew members to address our customers' needs by remediating moisture issues (laying moisture barrier, digging French drains, installing dehumidifiers, etc.) and helping to repair structural damage (sistering joists, building drop girders, etc.) in the crawl space and/or basement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to motivate others to complete work assignments in a timely and professional manner. The ability to provide training and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required. Must be familiar with cell phones, tablets, apps. and technology in general.
Special Requirements:
Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however a conviction of a crime may not disqualify an individual from this position. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of utility workers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water, sewer, stormwater, and other utility systems on construction sites.
2. Coordinate with project managers to develop utility installation plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics.
3. Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate placement and alignment of utility infrastructure according to project requirements.
4. Manage the procurement and inventory of materials, equipment, and tools necessary for utility installation and maintenance activities.
5. Conduct regular inspections of utility systems to identify potential issues, safety hazards, or regulatory compliance concerns.
6. Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to promote a culture of safety among team members and subcontractors.
7. Collaborate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for utility installations.
8. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, equipment usage, and project milestones.
9. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to utility crew members to promote skill development and ensure quality workmanship.
10. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients, to provide updates on utility-related activities and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in utility installation or construction management is preferred.
Proven experience (5 years) in utility installation, maintenance, or construction, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
Thorough knowledge of utility systems, including water distribution, sewer collection, stormwater management, and underground utilities.
Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards governing utility construction and installation.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and technical specifications related to utility infrastructure.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

What You'll Do:

The Parks Maintenance CrewLeader performs responsible semi-skilled work leading and participating in the work of a small crew providing a variety of assistance in grounds maintenance, construction, and custodial jobs; does related work as required.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Crew Supervisor. Work guidance is provided to one or two subordinate or assigned work crews. Work schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
Leads and participates in performing turf maintenance including mowing, fertilizing, sod installation and irrigation.
Leads and participates in performing general ground maintenance including tree cutting/pruning, mulching/landscaping, litter control, playground installation and fence installation.
Leads and participates in performing field preparation including lining ball fields, dragging baseball diamonds, and installing bases.
Leads and participates in the work of basic repair, maintenance and/or construction of public buildings, grounds, and facilities.
