Independently performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks with indirect supervision in the completion of general road maintenance tasks, including tasks related to the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, rights of way and other County infrastructure; dumps, spreads and tamps asphalt to repair joints and patch broken pavement; cuts and prepares road surfaces for the repair of potholes and the sealing of roadway cracks; hauls and spreads sand, gravel and clay to fill washouts and repair road shoulder; removes litter and debris from roadways, including debris from flooding to ensure roadways are passable; performs roadside landscaping work, such as mowing, clearing weeds, cutting brush and trimming trees to maintain a clear recovery zone for motorists; installs erosion control materials to facilitate restoration of roadside vegetation; trains and mentors crew members on work techniques and methodologies; coordinates the daily activities and needs of the crew; communicates work plans and assigns tasks to the crew members; provides instruction on the use of equipment and labor techniques; reads and interprets complex plans and specifications; calculates the quantity of materials needed to complete the job; prepares and maintains records and reports; assists the Road Maintenance Crew Foreman in developing priorities; assists in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning of crew activities and assists the Road Maintenance Foreman in monitoring the safety of the crew; communicates with the general public on issues in the absence of the Road Maintenance Crew Foreman; participates in job applicant interviews; attends coordination meetings; provides input to the Crew Foreman for annual reviews of the crew members.
Performs various tasks requiring equipment, vehicle, and tool operation; performs pre-trip inspections of trucks and equipment; executes field maintenance activities required to operate the equipment; uses a variety of small and large tools and operates a variety of light, medium, and heavy duty road maintenance and construction equipment and attachments including: trucks, dump trucks, skid steer loader, water trucks, compact rollers, mini excavator, crane truck, power broom, snow removal equipment, oil distributors, tankers, low boy trailers, track loaders, excavators, asphalt paver, chip seal spreader, motor graders, and other heavy equipment; performs general maintenance of light, medium, and heavy duty equipment; performs minor repairs and adjustments on road maintenance and construction equipment.
Performs a variety of activities during emergency response which may include sign repair, closing roads, addressing flood issues, and plowing and sanding activities for snow events.
Job Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience on construction projects such as roads and bridges are required. A Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement and an acceptable driving record are also required. This is a safety sensitive job requiring excessive standing and/or walking and exposure to extreme temperatures, heights, and loud noises. Position also requires lifting of 50 pounds and physical abilities including mobility, agility, strength, dexterity, balance, coordination, and/or endurance.
Vo-Tech certification/degree in Agricultural, Automotive or Construction Technology, or other related fields of study and one year of experience supervising, leading, or coordinating the work of others are preferred.

Assists participants with special events, rentals and programs at a variety of City facilities and parks. Sets up for meetings, recreational activities, birthday parties and City events scheduled at several City buildings.

Operates the following equipment: propane/electric buffers, Grout Hog, Kaivac and auto scrubbers (walk-behind and ride-on).

Operates City vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to various facilities and events.

3+ years of shotcrete or civil construction concrete experience
Expertise in shotcrete pump operation, with the ability to apply shotcrete accurately and efficiently.
Precision in shotcrete application to minimize waste and ensure project quality.
Comprehensive understanding of mix design principles for optimal material performance(wet and dry applications).
Ability to troubleshoot grout pump and shotcrete pump issues effectively.
Running and securing hoses for maximum safety and output.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in time management and prioritization.
Capacity to thrive in a dynamic and occasionally challenging work environment.
Equipment cleanup and maintenance.
Experience with casing, rock drilling or similar.
At least one year of traveling construction labor experience.
At least one year of working outside in all conditions.
Ability to understand and meet daily production targets.
A history of problem solving; the ability to grasp a problem, see a solution, and do whatever it takes to get the problem solved.
A history of complying with construction crew safety principles and tools.
Ability to be on time, all the time, every time.

This is a GMT3 job posting. The wage for that role is $24 - $26/hour
Hourly rate based on your experience. In general, our pay scale increases for:
More years of experience and technical expertise with the tools and technologies in drilling.
Ability to drive (CMV or CDL)
Experience or certifications for heavy equipment operations (skid steer, forklift, Bobcat, Scissor lift, or CDL vehicles.)
Experience with shotcrete or grouting pumps on the job.
Experience directing teams, managing customer interactions, or managing projects.
