Signature Landscape, Kansas City's premier commercial landscape maintenance contractor, is seeking Landscape Crew Lead / Drivers for all four Kansas City locations. We are gearing up for the 2026 season, with a start date of February 16.
Position Overview
The Landscape Crew Lead / Driver leads a maintenance crew while performing commercial landscape services. This role includes driving company vehicles, supervising daily work, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a landscape maintenance crew
Perform mowing, pruning, irrigation, and turf applications
Safely operate company trucks and equipment
Ensure work is completed efficiently and to company standards

Qualifications
Experience in commercial landscape maintenance preferred
Previous crew lead experience preferred
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a DOT physical

Each morning, you'll meet with the rest of the team to understand the day's game plan.
You'll drive one of our Shine vehicles to various customers' homes or businesses (typically with another Shine team member) throughout the day and perform our services specific to that customer's needs.
You'll call upcoming customers on your way to the job alerting them that you're on the way.
You'll meet customers face to face (if they're home) before your crew begins its work to ensure we're meeting the customer's expectations on the job that day.
Upon inspection, you may suggest other services the customer may consider that you feel may be appropriate.
When the work is complete, you'll complete a post-job inspection and meet again with the customer (if they're home) to review the work to their satisfaction.
You'll accept and process the customer's payment through our mobile payment technology completing the job.
You'll end your day back at the Shine office to recap the day, ensuring your vehicle is clean and ready for the next day's work.

About the Role
The position is responsible for all activities at the construction site, including providing a safe and productive work environment, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects stays within budgetary limits set forth by the estimate.
Candidates must have verifiable work experience as a foreman, with additional construction experience required. Oversees the terms and conditions of construction contracts.
Apportions work among employees and subcontractors according to project needs and coordinates work so that it maintains a smooth flow among the various trades.
Introduces new trades to the projects as the project requires them and collaborates with management of the various trades to ensure the work is carried out in a manner consistent with the project plans and specifications.
Provides a safe work environment through creating a culture of safety for the project and holding each individual on the project accountable for safe behavior. Regularly holds safety meetings and makes sure that the company's safety policies are being enforced.
Works as a liaison to the owner and coordinates plans and construction activities with the owner.
Sources material suppliers for consumables required to construct the project and estimates materials required for specific jobs. Orders materials and coordinates deliveries of materials to coincide with construction progress. Ensures that the materials for construction are on the project site as they are required and are stored in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Coordinates materials staging are as between the various trades and monitors material deliveries.
Maintains inventory and control over the projects tools, materials, equipment, and security.
Writes and maintains a project's daily record in detail through daily reports. Communicates those reports to the office on a daily basis.
Holds, at minimum, weekly coordination meetings between all subcontractors who are currently on site and any that will be on site in the near future. Coordinates work flows, safety, environmental concerns, manpower requirements, materials requirements and overall schedule through these meetings.
Is responsible for the overall project schedule. Writes and maintains short term interval schedules for the use and review of all trades on the project. Included are all phases of work that are current and applicable. Maintains overall project schedule through implementation of the short term interval schedule.
Is responsible for quality control on the project: holds all works accountable for adherence to the project plans and specifications. Holds pre-installations meetings to review installation procedures for all major materials used and has a thorough understanding of the project specifications and industry standards for installation of all materials to be used. Pre-installation meetings include manufacturers representatives, required design team members, affect ed subcontractors, and if necessary the owners representative. Assures that the work adheres to the project plans, specifications, codes, and other governmental agencies requirements. Coordinates inspections and insures that testing is being performed per the contract documents.
Maintains project budget through management of all labor associated with the project. Tracks and monitors the labor force for productivity .
Manages company and rental equipment for maximum productivity and minimum cost.
Keeps accurate record of time for employees, accurately codes the time to the tasks completed and reports time to the office in a timely manner.
Coordinates and facilitates the closeout of the project. Is responsible to assure that all punch list items are completed in a timely manner and that the own er is satisfied with both the quality and timeliness of the project as it is completed.

Position: Laborer
Reports to: Foreman or Superintendent
Job Type: Full-time, Union
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of construction sites, unloading, loading, and moving construction materials, and clearing debris and hazards.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, jackhammers, and other equipment.
Shovel, dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth.
Set formwork and paving steel for hand pours.
Direct traffic near construction sites when necessary to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
Perform tasks involving physical labor for heavy civil construction projects.
Adhere to and promote safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Identify and report potential safety hazards, concerns, or incidents immediately.
Communicate and work with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a productive work environment.
Regular and punctual attendance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience in construction or a related field (preferred).
OSHA 10 certification.
Ability and willingness to work at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to walk, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit, climb, work in challenging environments and on uneven surfaces, and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to remain alert and see, hear, and respond to team members and the surrounding environment in highly safety sensitive working conditions and near large heavy civil equipment and/or live traffic.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent teamwork, communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Reliable transportation to and from construction sites.
Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.

At least three years of experience (4000 work hours). Need skills working as:
Mason Tenders/ Hod Carriers
Scaffold building experience
Ability to operate off-road fork truck safely
Ability to move around on scaffold safely carrying 12-inch blocks
Knowledge of Mixing machine or Hopper operation
Fork truck license and scaffold building certification a plus
Concrete Laborer
Ability to work with a concrete truck and run a chute safely with correct signals
Ability to use concrete come-along for flatwork and site work efficiently
Ability to work as a team for long hours
Concrete finishing skills are a plus
Straight Edge or Screed Board experience is a plus
Hose Man experience on a pump truck is a plus
Asphalt Raker and Screed
Experienced asphalt raker must have an understanding of the asphalt laying process
Able to rake and shovel

Use manhole mount
Alignment instrument
Use auto level
Must be able to layout manholes and curb inlet boxes

Able to pour and finish inverts and collars
