Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for leading, training, and mentoring the project crew, prioritizing and delegating responsibilities, communicating with the tradespeople on the job site, and tracking project schedules to ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Serves as Lead Technical resource on assigned projects.
Reports on job status and performance.
Controls job costs.
Develops and maintains productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors.
Ensures the use of PPE and the application of safe behavior, including vehicle safety, by all employees.
Ensures compliance with Installation policies and procedures, including project tracking, safety, time and attendance, etc.
May oversee 3rd party resources.

Qualifications:

Additionally, the MDC provides drinking water to portions of Farmington, Glastonbury, East Granby and South Windsor, known as the MDC's non-member towns.
JOB SUMMARY
This is responsible water treatment plant crew leader work involving leading and participating in the filter plant operations and maintenance on an assigned shift.
Work involves responsibility for leading a crew as a senior operator and acting as a shift supervisor periodically when the shift supervisor is off. Duties include making rounds to regulator houses, maintenance of equipment, operation of equipment, recording of data and adjusting chemical feeders. This position also has the responsibility for making routine water flow decisions and handles emergencies when senior person on shift. This work requires that the employee have considerable knowledge, skill and ability in the maintenance and operation of filter plant equipment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assigns, oversees and corrects the work of a small work crew on an assigned shift when acting as the senior operator on the shift.
Monitors gauges, takes readings and keeps records of water treatment operations. Adjusts water flow and chemical feed rates. Performs maintenance on equipment.
Fills out forms on completed work assignments, as well as water flow data.
Demonstrates work procedures. Cites work rules violations. Assures safe work practices.
Coordinates activities on a short-term basis to assure personnel, materials and equipment necessary for assignments.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of sand filter plant methods, equipment and materials.
Some knowledge of public administration principles and practices as applied to crew operations reporting.
Good ability to communicate orally and to lead a work crew; some writing ability.
Good ability to make operational decisions within established procedures and to complete routine forms.
Good ability to oversee the activities of an assigned work crew.
Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or the equivalent plus some training in water filter plant operations plus four years of progressively responsible water treatment plant operations experience including at least some experience in a lead capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and qualifying experience substituting on a year-for year basis. Must have a Class IV Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification.
As part of the screening process, applicants will be required to take a written exam. A passing score of 70 on the written exam is required in order to be considered for an interview with supervision and/or further point evaluation.

The Co-Foreman is a leader as well as a contributor on our crew and an integral part of our success. The Co-Foreman coordinates tasks and assignments based on work priority, schedules, objectives, and workforce availability. The Co-Foreman assists with monitoring the progress of a project and keeping it on track from a time and budgetary standpoint. Job Responsibilities of Co-Foreman:
Assists Foreman with leading a high-performance team serving customers in a local market/area
Reviews job specifications to determine materials, tools, and equipment needed prior to reporting to job site
Assess conditions of the job once on-site; set forth plans based on time allotment, tools needed, and order of work - assign duties to your crew for work to be performed
Install products and services with support of a national team of trained professionals
Innovate and troubleshoot situations as needed based on requirements to complete the job to meet company standards and timetables
Provide customers with superior quality and service while onsite performing work
Ensure all final documentation is done completely/accurately and is given to the proper parties
What is required to join our team as a Co-Foreman:
Strong communication skills, ability to motivate, and be a team player.
Experience leading crews or small teams
Basic construction or mechanical knowledge
Must have a valid, non-restrictive driver's license.
Enters crawl spaces and other confined areas
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Physical requirements:
The position lifts heavy objects and/or up to 50 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor.
The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively lifts and carries heavy loads.
The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand and arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. It also requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
The employee must have excellent stamina.
Seeing with the ability to read reports, data, statistics and information on computer screens are required.
