Education

The Crew Lead position is an additional level of specialty for select individuals who have demonstrated leadership qualities and received approval from the local branch management to provide direction in a work crew setting. Specific knowledge includes: TCIA Crew Leader Training Program, Crew Safety, Personal Safety, Hazard of Inexperience, and ability to check off levels equal and below.
What a day is like:
Daily focus is working together on a General Tree Care crew to provide high quality tree care to our clients. The Tree Care Team is involved in all aspects of pruning, removals, cable bracing and other concepts related to tree care. Team members are able to safely operate all equipment and perform the assigned job tasks while also providing excellent service to our clients.
What kind of person are we looking for? Someone with:
Experience with proper pruning practices including large shade trees and ornamentals
Ability to identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species' characteristics
Ability to climb without spurs
Experience with tree care safety standards
Practical knowledge of chainsaw and equipment operation
Experience with aerial lifts (bucket truck)
Demonstrate additional competencies in all areas of knowledge for designated skill level.
Communicate advanced understanding of all safety policies and procedures, including hazard tree identification.
Utilize specialized equipment properly for climbing (ropes, saddle, ladders) along with all associated tools.
Apply knowledge of branch collars and proper pruning cuts with total competence on chainsaw operations in small to medium difficulty (40-50') trees.
Employ ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and Terminology and ANSI Z safety.
Demonstrate knowledge of different tree species and different techniques necessary for climbing each tree including Oaks, Maples, Dogwoods, Apples (Crab vs. Regular), Hemlocks, Pines and Spruce.
Complete work exhibiting ability to raise a ladder, throw a rope, and safe techniques to climb into a tree.
Set up safely with proper placement of lowering lines in a strong enough crotch, know when to attach a tag line, and engage proper lowering techniques.
Know when to double crotch and use other appropriate techniques when working in trees.
Able to drop trees, know when to use ropes for take down and identify potential need to use spikes.
Perform aerial rescue if needed.

Qualifications
3+ years of geotechnical or civil construction experience
Heavy equipment operation experience (skid steer, excavator, concrete/grout pump, etc.)
Equipment cleanup and maintenance.
Experience with casing, rock drilling or similar.
Experience with Shotcrete.
At least one year of traveling construction labor experience.
At least one year of working outside in all conditions.
Ability to understand and meet daily production targets.
A history of problem solving; the ability to grasp a problem, see a solution, and do whatever it takes to get the problem solved.
A history of complying with construction crew safety principles and tools.
Ability to be on time, all the time, every time.

Primary Responsibilities
Stakeholder Interaction (Mortgage lender/Borrower/PLG/Title Co./etc.)

Creates and sends a Welcome Package to clients upon commencement of construction and the draw process

Draw Management
Using base templates to create and maintain deal specific draw trackers for each new project
Meeting servicing standards on multiple, ongoing draws by critically reviewing construction draw requests for accuracy and compliance with loan agreements and C-PACE Programs
Reviewing required documentation and lien waivers quickly for appropriateness and accuracy and requesting further information within 24 hours or initial request, when needed
Coordinating with third party vendors to confirm work progress and project completion stages
Identifying and resolving discrepancies between draw requests, site inspection information and the construction budget, should they arise
Maintaining and balancing each individual draw tracker to ensure construction escrow accounts stay in balance, internally
Tracking and verifying the overall project budget stays in balance (i.e. there are enough funds from all sources to complete the build)
When all documentation is complete and/or received, verifying wiring instructions and processing the construction loan draw, ensuring funds are sent out
Compliance and Documentation
Using the Master Tracking Document as a pipeline management tool, tracking and updating each individual draw, on a daily basis, as it moves through the process
Following up on trailing documents from loan closings (i.e. construction permits/builders risk insurance/surveys, etc.)
Reviewing for construction insurance maturities/cancellations and following up with clients to ensure proper insurance is maintained
At construction completion, ensuring full documentation for the file in relation to any final, C-PACE required documentation (i.e. Certificate of Occupancy/Completion Certificates/etc.)
Other tasks as needed
Skill set must include the following:
2-4 years of experience with commercial construction draws/loan administration preferred
Extremely detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks
Familiarity with construction budgets, schedules, reports, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
Curious, with a problem-solving attitude (identify issues, but also suggest solutions), particularly, with the ability to think through nuances of each construction draw
Ability to manage several projects with different parameters using checklists and timelines
Proactive communication and follow through
