JOB SUMMARY:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
2 years of professional tree climbing experience required.
License or Certification
Valid driver license issued by the state where employed is strongly preferred
Valid ISA Certified Tree Worker Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months
Specialized Skills
Experienced Tree Climber with expertise in climbing above 15 feet, cabling, and adhering to safety protocols.
Basic tree care principals, pruning techniques, tree ID and disease ID
Aerial rescue; safe work practices; proper PPE; hazard recognition; Dig Alert procedures and tree removal techniques; basic knots and rope operation for rigging; emergency tree rescue procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and Arbor Foreman
Ability to verbally understand and communicate in English is strongly preferred

Lower branches with ropes or block and tackle
Transplant and remove trees and shrubs, and prepare trees for moving
Safe operation of shredding and chipping equipment, including the feeding of brush and limbs into machines
Safe operation of arbor vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: boom trucks, loaders, stump chippers, brush chippers, tractors, sprayers, power saws, chainsaws, pole pruners, backpack blowers, and hand tools
Inspect trees to determine if they have disease or pest problem
Clean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipment
Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures

Examples of Work
* Operates and conducts routine maintenance of forestry and landscaping equipment; including but not limited to: chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, stump grinders, augers, chippers, aerial lifts, spray and water tankers, tree spades, tractors, excavators, and City vehicles.
* Maintains and monitors City-owned right of ways, landscape areas, and urban forest areas; including but not limited to: clearing obstacles and debris, weed and pest control, planting, pruning, mulching, pressure washing, painting, and irrigation system repairs.
* Provides field supervision of the Right of Way Crew; Train, assign, evaluate and discipline a crew of Technicians.
* Assists with special projects, programs and events as needed.
* Able to work flexible work hours, including nights and weekends.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Subject to 24-hour recall, including weather related incidents and emergency operations.
Education, Experience, or Certification
* High school diploma or GED.
* Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
* Four (4) years of professional experience in landscaping, maintenance, arboriculture, or construction.
* Two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferred.

* Oversee field staff, Safety, equipment, materials, scheduling, cost efficiency, quality, productivity and company vehicle organization for assigned project
* Responsible for assisting in the scheduling, training and reviewing of field personnel
* Communicate with Superintendent, client and subcontractors
* Ensure warranty inspections and punch list items are completed and handle delegated customer issues on assigned projects
* Assist in performance management of the team
* Ensure all safety requirements are adhered to everyday/always (JHA, water, equipment, stretch and flex, PPE, etc.)
* Other responsibilities as assigned
Experience:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience at a Sr. Technician level or higher within the construction industry
* OSHA 30 certification
Minimum Requirements:
* English speaking, bilingual preferred
* Safety focused
* Ability to read and follow blueprints and construction documents
* Able to communicate expectations and lead others
* Able to work independently without significant supervision
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Must be authorized to work in the United States
* Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
* Must be able to work outside in changing weather conditions
* Must be able to work in elevated locations
* Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week and overtime when necessary
* Must have reliable transportation to get to differing job locations
* Must be looking for full time employment with a desire to advance within the company
Education Required:
* High school diploma or GED
