Position Summary
We're looking for a skilled and reliable Commercial Construction Crew Lead to join our team. This is a working leadership role-you'll be actively performing hands-on construction work while also leading and managing a crew of 2-5 team members on site. You'll be responsible for making sure jobs are done safely, efficiently, and up to code, all while maintaining high standards and keeping communication clear with your team, clients, and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Trade Work
Perform construction and repair tasks including:
Framing and finish carpentry
HVAC and refrigeration work
Plumbing and light electrical
Demolition, patching, and other general trades
Ensure all work meets client expectations, code requirements, and safety standards
Use personal tools and job-site equipment appropriately and responsibly
Crew Supervision
Lead and support a team of 2-5 crew members through daily tasks
Assign duties, monitor progress, and step in to help wherever needed
Provide on-the-job training and correct unsafe or improper work
Submit accurate timecards, daily updates, and job logs
Project & Work Order Management
Execute client-issued work orders from start to finish
Read and interpret construction plans, scopes of work, and site layouts
Coordinate job activities with project managers and regional leadership
Track job progress and materials, keeping projects on schedule and on budget
Help ensure each technician contributes to team revenue goals (e.g., $250K annually per tech)
Client & Site Communication
Always Represent AlffCo in a professional manner on-site
Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors
Provide regular updates on job progress, delays, and issues
Maintain a clean and organized job site and ensure post-job walk-throughs are successful
Safety & Compliance
Enforce job site safety standards for yourself and the crew
Maintain an organized, hazard-free work area
Follow OSHA, local, and company safety protocols
Report incidents or unsafe conditions immediately

Responsible for being mindful of controlling crew costs including effective use of manpower, proper work methods, amount of trimming, and operation of equipment.
Considers inclement weather conditions and determines when to start or stop work, dependent upon its effect on employees and the nature of the work.
Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking street or driveways. Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect employees as well as the public. Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue. Follows and enforces safe work practices, rules and policies.
Responsible for truck inspection, proper working conditions, as well as necessary repairs to tools, trucks and other work equipment. Requests major repairs or replacements when required. Maintains good housekeeping on truck and at worksite locations.

Services gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and other equipment.
Relays hand-signals, directs traffic, drives and operates trucks and equipment as assigned, and keeps trucks and work area clear and orderly.
Trains new employees on proper procedures.
Works around hazardous equipment and in close proximity to energized power lines.
Works around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, wood chipper and must wear proper personal protective equipment.

Job Title: Roofing Foreman Position Overview: This position is responsible for leading a team of crew members in carrying out the day-to-day needs of the project by ensuring safety, quality workmanship, production, and overall project success.
Essential Functions:
* Effectively communicate with Crew Members, Superintendents, and Project Managers regarding scheduling, scope of work and assigned activities, etc. Includes notifying project team of any additional scope items prior to execution.
* Participate in pre-construction meeting/pre-job walkthrough with Project Manager and/or Superintendent
* Accurately record crew member's hours and resolve any timesheet disputes
* Directly work to support the growth and development of crew members
* Meet and maintain project hours and schedule to ensure project success
* Record daily logs to ensure quality, production, and proper job-site documentation
* Ensure job site and crew adheres to OSHA safety standards and compliance at all times
* Communicate and coordinate with customers and other trades as needed
* Conduct/participate in weekly project meetings for scheduling, discussions, and issue resolution
* Monitor weather throughout the day to minimize risk of weather events
* Ensure job is weather-ready at the end of each day (i.e., materials secured and job watertight)
* Plan and communicate next day's activities to maximize crew efficiency
* Report labor, material and equipment needs with Superintendent in a timely manner
* Coordinate with Warehouse Staff to manage/track trailer inventory and restock as needed
* Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and job site to ensure a professional appearance
* Ensure all tools are properly and securely stored to prevent theft or damage, and report any missing, damaged, or unsafe tools to the Warehouse Manager immediately
Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and organize a crew of crew members on the job site. Communicate any performance management development opportunities or concerns to Operations Manager.
Required Skills and Abilities:
* OSHA 30 hour training (preferred)/OSHA 10 hour certification (minimum required)
* Obtain required certificates for operating equipment
* Must be able to obtain security clearance on military job sites
* Familiar with SMACNA standards and details
* Willingness to learn new systems
* Ability to understand shop drawings and site plans
* Proficient math skills for calculating building areas, lengths, heights, and accurately using a tape measure
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills
* Self-motivated

* Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
* Willing to travel
* Ability to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)
* Frequently lift and carry 50lbs or greater
* Frequent bending, kneeling, walking
* Outdoor environment in all types of weather (8+ hours per day)
* Overtime and weekend work
