Job Description Responsibilities · Comprehend blueprint readings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions. · Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass and/or drywall. · Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw. · Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and/or marking gauge. · Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and other hand tools to repair and erect structures. · Join materials with nails, screws, bolts, staples and adhesives. · Complete the following tasks: stain-grade trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, install partitions, set windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, read blueprints, erect scaffolding, utilize appropriate math skills. · Check completed work units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location, and are up to code and specifications. · Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. · May perform other related duties as assigned.
