CREW MEMBER PROGRAM:
The EarthCorps program is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental restoration. Crew Members will serve on crews of 5-7 members led by an EarthCorps crew leader. Crew members will make a difference on the land through on-the-ground restoration projects throughout Western Washington. Ecological restoration is one tool to care for our land and address our shifting weather patterns and long-term ecological shifts. Crews at EarthCorps have an opportunity to directly improve the resiliency of our land by restoring habitat, improving water and air quality, reducing erosion, sequestering carbon and engaging the broader community to become stewards of our shared resource.
In addition to impactful service, corps members will grow professionally and personally through training, engaging with environmental agencies, collaborating with staff, providing feedback, and practicing structured reflection. Corps members learn valuable team building skills as they work on bridging a wide range of lived experiences and backgrounds, their cross-cultural communication skills, conflict resolution management, and value-driven leadership capacity.
This position is managed by the EarthCorps Operations Manager and supervised by EarthCorps Project Managers. It is offered through AmeriCorps and all applicants must meet the requirements to become an AmeriCorps member and abide by AmeriCorps policies.
PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & INTENDED OUTCOMES:
FIELD SERVICE (80% of program)
Crews complete restoration projects in partnership with various land management agencies, throughout the Puget Sound region (in urban, suburban, and rural settings). Crews are introduced to a broad range of project sites, different techniques and approaches to ecological restoration. This broad exposure will provide participants with skills to implement best management practices in restoration, an appreciation of the challenges of restoration and an understanding of the field of environmental restoration work. Project Implementation: Crew Members are responsible for the efficiency of accomplishing projects and the quality of the final product under supervision from project staff. All corps Members and staff are responsible for the safety of themselves, their fellow workers, and members of the public who may be involved with projects.
What type of service will Crew Members perform?
Field Service Projects (and estimates of their typical percentage of the program):
Vegetation control (manual,/ mechanical, chemical) 45%
Indigenous Plant installation (planting)15%

Multiple camping trips. Camping trips give corps members a chance to learn and practice camping skills and deepen team development. In 2025 most organized camping trips were done in a front country (non-wilderness) setting, but each program year brings potential for backcountry wilderness trips as well. Typical duration of these trips is 3-4 nights, with the potential for a 10- day trip as well. In 2025, the number of nights camping ranged from 25-40 nights, roughly 1-2 weeks per month.
TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS (20% of the program)
EarthCorps is a service-learning program. This means in addition to learning from fieldwork, corps members will attend training to develop skills and context for restoration activities. Facilitators will use lectures, discussions, reflections, site tours and hands-on assignments. Position Overview
The Workplace Attendant is a client-facing role that will work directly at an assigned client site. This position is in a high-volume, fun and growing office food environment, and will require the ability to respond quickly and make decisions on the fly based on clients needs. Attendants are responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of a client's office space aka Workplace. They will assist clients onsite daily with needs that are tailored for their individual offices; therefore, responsibilities may vary by client.
Areas of service may include, all lunch service areas, break rooms, micro-kitchens, buffet lines, snack and beverage displays, etc. This role may also be responsible for stocking and maintaining various other supplies and inventory within client spaces; such as, storage rooms and sometimes support with re-stocking bathroom supplies.
Attendants in SF may also work closely with the FOH catering team to assist and support with the catering responsibilities for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as needed. Additionally, this position may be responsible for cleaning all the dishes, including but not limited to serving utensils, and other items left on site for daily food service like bon chefs and double boilers.
Requirements:
Responsibilities
Receive all snack and drink deliveries
Stock snacks and drinks throughout the day using FIFO methods
Brew coffee each morning and replenish throughout the day
Tidy, clean and sanitize all kitchen areas
Wash, dry, stock and maintain dishes, serving utensils and other kitchen equipment as directed.
Help with signage for all offerings
Conduct inventory of snacks and drinks and put in orders with HQ to replenish inventory as needed
Maintain and conduct the monthly smallwares inventory count.
Assist with maintaining pars for all snacks & drinks offerings
Monitor proper functioning of and conduct routine maintenance of any onsite kitchen equipment
Be a friendly face and host within all office kitchen areas
Help guests, answer questions and fulfill customer requests with delightful hospitality
Assist with new client setups of Snack and Drink instillations, as needed
Monitor time and temperature of food for safety/sanitation purposes
Light equipment cleaning and maintenance including coffee brewers and espresso machines and kegerators.
Clean and maintain the required spaces of the client site in accordance with all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs repetitively throughout the 8 hours shift,
Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years experience in a similar field and/or customer service environment with a passion for food and people
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication and patience
Attendance and punctuality is required with schedule flexibility determined by client location needs
Ability to work independently, be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly
Strong understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
Basic Computer knowledge is needed, using Google Drive: Docs, Sheets and Forms
Smartphone will be needed for daily communications on Slack and for managing Timecards and scheduling, etc.

Schedule & Expectations
Typical schedules are Monday through Friday with hours dependent on services needed. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on shift availability, with your supervisor.

About the Venue
Here at Green River Community College we serve the students and staff on campus. We are open Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm and Friday 7am - 2pm. We have to barista stands on campus. The stand in the main building also serves pizzas and we jut got a new Boba tea machine.
