General Description:

The purpose of this class within the organization is to oversee a crew and direct the daily tasks performed by that crew to produce a desired outcome. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences

Minimum Training and Experience:

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college in vocational or technical studies or related field. Requires two years working on a crew with increasing supervisory responsibilities or closely related experience.


Special Certifications and Licenses:
Commercial Driver's License - Class A


Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of safe work practices, methods, materials, and tools used in stormwater system construction, maintenance, and operation. Considerable knowledge of and technical skill to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, new installation activities, and to analyze, troubleshoot, and correct faults in public environment. Working knowledge of the following: hydraulic principles, stormwater conveyance, detention, excavation principles and equipment, measuring instruments, pumps, valves, fittings, pipes; etc. Ability to read plans to install storm drain pipe and catch basin boxes. Ability to conduct stream restoration projects. Ability to plan and organize daily work routine. Strong management skills including planning and organizing, problem analysis and decision-making, management control, time management, leadership, and interpersonal sensitivity. Good supervisory skills to train and evaluate stormwater staff, administer comprehensive performance standards, safety rules, policies, and procedures. Ability to research, understand and explain information in complex technical manuals, blueprints, legal codes, drawings, schematics, etc. Ability to maintain and assist in the development of accurate computerized maintenance records systems; ability to assist with input on division/department computer systems. Ability to adapt and flex to schedule changes as necessary. Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines. Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Essential Job Functions:


Supervises storm water crew and ensures quality customer service is provided. Responsible for shooting grade with transit level, setting up pipe laser to ensure proper installation, and reading grade stakes to ensure proper depth of pipes and catch basins. Oversees proper installation of gabion baskets in creeks or washout areas and retention ponds. Plans and schedules work assignments, including establishing performance standards for work crews, directing the utilization of equipment. Interacts with subordinates, tenants and the general public; initiates personnel actions, including counseling subordinates on work related problems, preparing performance appraisals, recommending disciplinary actions, submitting accidents and injury reports, scheduling subordinates for time off. Performs problem solving regarding requests and complaints from subordinates, employees and general public. Operates a vehicle; performs vehicle inspections; transports inventory to various locations, etc. Conducts equipment and vehicle inspections and checks to be sure that all work sites are safe and using their PPE. Oversees that all work is done correctly, answers any questions that the crew leader or crew members may have, and collects daily reports. Responsible for Storm Water budget. Operates heavy and medium equipment (backhoe, forklift, dump trucks, mini x, tractor, track hoe, and loader). Enters data into the computer system. Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs

Job purpose:
Function as the Janitorial Crew Lead within Kenn Kleen which will include, but not be limited to direct supervision of Janitorial Workers and/or individuals served in the maintenance program, meet contractual requirements of all contracts, perform maintenance job functions as required, and provide work training to prepare individuals served for competitive employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive direct supervision from the Assistant Manager and/or Manager of Janitorial Services. Much of the daily operation of the work crew is done without onsite, direct supervision.
Directly supervise all workers at worksite.
Complete assessments, rated wages and Therap documents as assigned.
Complete all site-specific reports and information as assigned.
Perform hands‑on cleaning to include but not be limited to: sweeping, mopping, general cleaning, buffing, carpet cleaning, stripping and waxing.
Meet all contract requirements and specifications.
Instruct crew in specific components of maintenance care through explaining, demonstrating, modeling and/or practice.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma. Two years of experience working with persons with disabilities or working on maintenance work crews preferred. Valid Driver’s License and ability to possess a State of CT Public Service License. Must maintain a satisfactory driving record. You are required to be in possession of a car on site during your entire shift to transport yourself and/or individuals served to community sites in all weather conditions and throughout all neighborhoods. Depending upon assignment, must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions and locations. Must maintain PMT and CPR certification. Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office and the internet. Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Distribute and utilize equipment and work materials, which frequently include lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and climbing. Provide hands on personal care which may include toileting, feeding, cleaning and all other activities of daily living skills. Have physical endurance to use physical crisis intervention techniques which may include restraining individuals. Provide physical intervention which may include lifting, mobility, first aid, and safety evacuations. Move and lift weights up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. Work independently, utilize good judgment, and possess a strong sense of initiative. Communicate clearly in oral and written form on a constant basis. Operate maintenance equipment including carpet shampooer and buffing machine.

WRA Landscape Restoration specializes in ecological restoration and wildland vegetation management solutions throughout California's unique array of ecological communities. Our Landscape Restoration team is based out of the North Bay and provides natural resource-based services throughout the entire San Francisco Bay Area.

We are seeking a Restoration Supervisor to join our hardworking and joyful team in fulfilling the initiatives of our Restoration Program which are centered around the restoration, stewardship, and enhancement of natural landscapes and habitats. This opportunity is primarily a field-based position, guiding our team of 4-6 experienced restoration technicians in a wide range of ecological restoration services including fire fuel vegetation management, native plant out-planting, invasive plant mapping and control, site maintenance and irrigation, stream bank stabilization, and erosion control.

The primary component of this position is field based and is physically demanding year-round. Candidates must be willing to work outdoors in wild and rough terrain through extreme weather conditions. Steep slopes and poison oak are common on many job sites. Additional activities include data collection for reports and field research, documenting and mapping distributions of native resources and invasive plant populations, and strategically planning ecologically driven approaches to achieve optimal success on our project sites.
The core areas of responsibilities include:
(1) Provide leadership, support, and care for our Restoration Technicians focusing on team wellbeing and cohesion.
(2) Perform on the ground training on approaches to work and specialized equipment through day-to-day activities
(3) Coordinate work schedules through organizing personnel and field equipment on multiple sites
