Train Crew employees are responsible for providing the safe and timely movement of customers' freight. Previous railroad experience is not required as we provide all necessary training.
As you progress in your career, you may have the opportunity to apply for engine service (fireman's class) and become a Class 1 Locomotive Engineer.
In your initial year of service, you can expect earnings of around $80,000. As you advance in your career there is potential for higher earnings, with the median annual wages of an employee with five years of service reaching over $100,000. Each employee is entitled to medical insurance that also covers prescriptions. In addition, the company provides vision, dental, life, and disability insurance.
**What Should You Know**
* If hired, know that changing seniority locations and/or crafts (moving from train crew to mechanical or engineering) are approved based on business demands and may not be granted. Plan to commit to your craft and work location for a minimum of 2 years.
* The training class is 14 weeks and includes classroom and on-the-job training. Attendance for the full 14 weeks and successful completion of all exams during the training period is a requirement for continued employment.
* After training, you will work either road or yard service based on the territory you hold seniority and seniority date.
* Road service crews may be required to work between two locations requiring them to stay away from their home terminal point. Lodging is provided by Union Pacific.

*Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization established in 1992 to give youth ages 18 to 24 a chance to earn an income and learn hands-on job skills while serving in their communities. In its first year, 20 youth served Denver neighborhoods through a single 10-week program. Today, MHYC engages over 250 youth (called Corpsmembers) every year through several comprehensive programs that integrate paid work experience on community service projects with leadership development, career exploration, and education. During its 30 year history, Mile High Youth Corps has grown from a small, seasonal, neighborhood-based organization to a comprehensive, year-round, regional program serving 23 counties from two regional offices, Metro Denver and the Southern Front Range.*
**POSITION DESCRIPTION**
Land Conservation Crew Members (called *Corpsmembers)* serve on environmental stewardship projects throughout the greater Denver Metro area. Corpsmembers will be enrolled in AmeriCorps-a national community service program. No experience is required! We will provide you with hands-on training related to all projects.
**JOB DUTIES**
* **Chainsaw -** primarily complete invasive tree removal and wildland fire mitigation projects.
* **Trail -** primarily complete trail maintenance and construction projects.
* **Noxious Weed Management -** trained on how to safely handle and apply pesticides for invasive species removal projects, the role of pesticides in natural resources management, native and invasive species identification and how to operate a variety of hand pump and backpack sprayers.
* **Trail & Restoration -** in addition to trail maintenance and construction projects, complete fencing, park development, native planting and historical preservation projects.
* **Day -** complete projects in nearby locations, starting and ending each day at MHYC headquarters. Day crews are ideal for projects close to urban areas or easily accessible sites.
* **Overnight -** complete projects further away from the MHYC headquarters, stay in a housing facility provided by the project partner 3 nights a week. Nine meals provided by MHYC.
* **Camping -** complete projects further away from MHYC headquarters, setting up camp near the project site and your vehicles to minimize travel time. Nine meals provided by MHYC.

She holds a MA from the UNC Wilmington in Liberal Studies, and is currently working on a second Master's in Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. Tatiana is a 3x AmeriCorps Alumna having served in NCCC, VISTA, and State and National. **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
**_Wardrobe Technician:_**
+ Act as liaison between the wardrobe run crew and the costume shop.
+ Prepare, handle, and document actor fittings as directed by the CSF Wardrobe Supervisor.
+ Ensure proper flow of information, rehearsal, and show needs to the CSF Wardrobe Supervisor.
+ Coordinate the care, management, and organization of finished costumes.
+ Assist in preparation of all wardrobe facilities and operations.

+ Assist the CSF Drapers in the production of new costumes and refurbishment and alteration of existing costumes.
+ Pattern layout and fabric cutting according to instructions from the CSF Drapers.
+ Prepare construction work for stitchers, interns, and volunteers.
+ Work with stitchers, interns, and volunteers in construction, finish work, and alterations.
+ This position reports directly to the CSF Costume Shop Manager.
**_Stitcher:_**
+ Construct new costumes and alter and refurbish existing costumes under the direction of CSF Drapers and First Hand.
+ Work closely with CSF Drapers and First Hand to ensure that costumes are completed with an emphasis on quality and safety.
+ This position reports directly to the CSF Costume Shop Manager.
**_Costume Crafts Shop Technician:_**
+ Assist the CSF Costume Crafts Shop Supervisor in the construction, fitting, and alteration of costume crafts, including but not limited to armor, masks, footwear, headwear, belts, bags, and jewelry.
+ Develop and fabricate craft pieces according to designer / supervisor instructions.
+ Perform cutting, construction, finishing, and alterations to assigned items.
+ Assist in supervising student workers and volunteers.
+ This position reports directly to the CSF Costume Crafts Shop Supervisor.
**_Wig & Makeup Technician:_**
+ Pull, purchase, alter, and / or manufacture wigs, hair styles, and facial hair as directed by the CSF Wig & Makeup Supervisor.
+ Maintain wig / hair stock.
+ Demonstrate and apply traditional and contemporary makeup techniques.
+ Assist with changeovers, presets, and wig & makeup maintenance.
+ Perform or schedule haircuts as needed during the run of shows.
