Position description:
The Hardscape/Landscape Crew Member must have a positive, can-do attitude, be an eager learner, be conscious of safety requirements, work effectively as a team member, dress appropriately, be punctual, follow instructions given by the Hardscape/Landscape Foreman or Hardscape/Landscape Crew Leader.
Reports To:
Directly to the Divisional Crew Leader.
Necessary skill set and educational requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Possess a clean driver's license and must be insurable on the company's insurance policy.
Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility.
Physically able to handle the workload of Landscape Foreman or Landscape Crew Lead.
Have full range of mobility in the upper and lower body.
Able to lift 75 pounds without assistance.
Have reliable transportation to/from work.
Job Responsibilities:
Follow all instructions given by the Landscape Foreman or Leadman.
Thoroughly understands and complies with company policy and safety manuals.
Reports any and all unsafe conditions or accidents.
Properly and safely operates equipment.
Works in a safe manner and reports any and all unsafe conditions to foreman and/or supervisor.
Reports to work on time.
Is a willing learner who seeks to master the basic skills of landscape maintenance.
Reports to work in a clean, appropriate uniform and wearing the appropriate boots/shoes.
Able to communicate with supervisor in a timely and thorough manner.
Maintains a clean crew truck at all times.
Completes assigned tasks efficiently, thoroughly, and per company production rates.
Continuing education requirements: minimum of 5 hours per year
Appraisal criteria:
The primary appraisal criteria for the Landscape Crew Member is to show up on time in the proper clean uniform, work hard, and within 90 days learn the skills necessary to properly and safely operate all hand tools and to meet company production rates.

Training is provided onsite at the Zoo and is paid at the employee's regular hourly rate. The Zoo will cover the certification fee ($20) for the employee's initial certification attempt. Any additional attempts required to obtain certification will be at the employee's expense. Failure to demonstrate or obtain the required certification within the specified timeframe is a violation of health code requirements and will result in termination.
Experience:
Prior cash handling experience preferred but not required.
Prior guest service experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to list up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment, may be asked to perform in other areas to include outdoor locations. Must wear close toe shoes.
