The Hillman/Tailman is an essential member of the pipe crew, working closely with the Pipelayer and Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently install underground utility systems such as storm drains, sanitary sewers, and waterlines. The Hillman/Tailman assists with trench preparation, pipe alignment, grade checks, setting structures, and backfill operations. This position requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to all safety standards. Key ResponsibilitiesPipe Installation Support Assist the Pipelayer in placing and aligning RCP, HDPE, and PVC pipe sections to grade and line.
