Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking an experienced Neuro Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse to join the Methodist Team. This is a full time, nights, job opportunity.

In this challenging Neuro Critical Care Unit Registered Nursing position, the Registered Nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned critical care patients. The Register Nurse will provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The RN will direct and supervise other assigned team members and will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards of care.

Neuro Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse Job Requirements:
*Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN Preferred
*Current BCLS Certification and ACLS
*Current additional certifications as required by department
*Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so
*Work experience: at least 2 years Critical Care RN experience

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.

Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
• Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care (prefered, not required)
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills
• Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.

Department Profile

A 59-bed institute designated to Global Emerging Diseases. Supporting and caring for symptomatic COVID-19 and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients that need critical and med-surg care in addition to future patient needs that will encompass all emerging diseases. This unit is newly constructed with our Team Member safety top of mind.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention; formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights.
