Job: Payroll Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, the Payroll Manager manages the Company's payroll processing and accounting function. Employees in this job class develop, implement, and administer payroll policies and procedures; develop long term strategic plans related to the payroll system platform; and serve as a liaison with other departments in the resolution of payroll related issues. This job class requires extensive knowledge of multi-state and federal wage and hour laws, reporting, and regulations, and the ability to manage a payroll staff function.
TYPICAL DUTIES:1. *Plans, organizes and manages the payroll processing and accounting functions to ensure accurate, timely, and properly controlled payments to employees..2. *Schedules and prioritizes tasks and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors.3. *Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the performance of employees. 4. *Develops. Implements, and administers the Company's payroll policies and procedures that are aligned and integrated with human resources systems and processes, and accounting controls and reporting.5. *Defines and develops long-term strategic payroll plans, addressing system platform and administrative needs.6. *Analyzes new contracts to determine and document payroll requirements, and trains payroll team accordingly.7. *Ensures compliance with garnishment and support orders, and the proper application of federal, state, and local employee tax withholdings;8. *Ensures a competent, motivated staff through effective hiring, training, counseling, supervising and evaluating.9. *Schedules and prioritizes tasks, and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors.10. *Cross-trains employees appropriately to ensure daily back up and coverage of departmental functions.11. *Conducts and participates in regular departmental meetings; and solicits and accepts useful business improvement recommendations from staff.12. *Serves as an information source and liaison with other departments regarding payroll regulations and department operations. Participates as a member of inter-departmental project teams.13. *Oversees the preparation and filing of W-2 and related tax forms; various local, state, and federal tax submissions; and statutory reports. Ensures that required payments are executed to the proper entities.14. *Responds to internal and external audit reviews of payroll records.15. *Resolves non-routine payroll issues and ensures that staff is engaged in reconciling issues;16. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Five or more years of payroll processing including three years in a supervisory role;• Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) preferred;• Understanding of federal and state laws and interpretations regarding wage taxation and payment;• Ability to supervise assigned staff to meet production goals and follow practices and procedures in a high-volume department;• High degree of computer literacy in specialized software related to departmental operations including payroll systems, and database, Internet, spreadsheet, and word processing programs;• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;• Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules;• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees;• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills;• Exceptional customer service skills;• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public;• Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems;• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.

Cleans and sanitizes deep fat fryers by draining cooled oil into a stainless steel hose that connects to the fryer; oils is drained in a pan and dumped into a grease barrel; repetitive washing and rinsing of fryers with hot, soapy water and then clear water to clean and rinse for removal of any soap residue13. Responsible for cleaning up to ten feet of the facilities outside perimeter that includes picking up and throwing away cigarette butts, cans, bottles, plastic utensils, etc.14. Removes trash and breakdown cardboard to transport to trash and recycle bins; replace trash liners15. Cleans bathrooms by conducting spot checks throughout meals and thorough cleaning, such as wiping down and sanitizing walls, mirrors, countertops, toilets, after meals16. POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of specialized administrative and clerical duties in support of the Human Resources Function. Employees in this job class maintain detailed employee data in HRIS and Payroll Systems, create and maintain confidential employee files, provide benefit and other information to employees, and process human resources transactions. This job requires general knowledge of Human Resources requirements, advanced administrative and organizational skills, the ability to administer specialized processes and to maintain detailed records and files.
TYPICAL DUTIES:1. *Supports Human Resources Management by coordinating projects, assisting with recruiting, preparing reports, working on special events, processing final checks, and updating job listing information. 2. *Assists employees in person and over the telephone in understanding and utilizing human resources programs and services.3. *Enters a variety of detailed information to the human resources information and payroll processing systems; including new hire data, benefit enrollments and changes, performance appraisals; changes in personal information, and emergency contact updates.4. *Advises managers and employees regarding procedural or factual matters such as benefit information, paperwork, and compliance.5. *Processes background checks and escalates those with records.6. *Processes new hire documentation, including verification of I-9 forms. 7. *Contacts sources, including benefits carriers and employees to obtain missing or incorrect documents and data. Ensures that submitted documents meet criteria, and escalate if not.8. *Administers Assists with FMLA/LOA process, including determining eligibility, calculating payments, and corresponding with managers and employees.9. *May provide reception services by answering and routing calls, greeting and assisting visitors and employees, and verifying employment data.10. *Maintains active and terminated employee files. Compiles confidential documents and assembles correctly into folders. 11. *Maintains supply of new hire and employee benefit packages and brochures.12. *May administer vendor accounts, vendor requests, purchase orders, check requests, and invoices.13. *May prescreens candidates and coordinates interviews and recruiting processes with managers and other staff as necessary. May assist on hiring/interview practices to ensure legal compliance. 14. *May maintain recruiting files, update. 15. *Updates job postings, advertisements, and applicant files.16. *Provides general administrative support such as routing mail and faxes, maintaining levels of office supplies and forms, making travel arrangements and mailing overnight packages.17. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

There are no direct reports with this position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision the Landscape Lead oversees landscape activities in installing and maintaining landscaped areas, roads, and parking lots of assigned facilities. This job class requires knowledge of landscaping practices, standards, supplies and equipment; and the ability to organize, schedule and supervise the work of people with developmental disabilities in assigned locations. Employees in this job perform work to assure grounds are maintained in safe and pristine condition.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. * Performs landscape maintenance activities: mows lawns, trims hedges, shrubs, pulls weeds and maintains flower beds to maintain the overall appearance of landscape vegetation and grounds s.2. * Trains employees; sets up work, directs workflow, and monitors progress of projects through to completion. Ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.3. * Provides work instruction and training in the safe and proper use of equipment and chemicals to include the application of fertilizer, weed killer, and necessary pesticides, pulls weeds, and maintains flower beds.4. * Oversees work activities and reviews work to ensure it is performed safely, on-time, and according to established procedures, regulations, and guidelines.5. * Monitors and maintains irrigation systems to ensure that vegetation is properly irrigated.6. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least one year of landscaping experience;- Ability to effectively train and direct employees to meet departmental goals/objectives;- Knowledge of landscape maintenance standards and techniques, materials, and the safe and proper use of chemicals;- Knowledge of departmental operations and procedures, and organizational policies;- Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA occupational safety regulations;- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others;- Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English;- Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team;- Effective customer service skills;- Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;- Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;- Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and commonsense skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed on job sites, in an environment using grounds maintenance tools, mechanical and electrical equipment. Employees may be exposed to uneven surfaces, toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment and depending one external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold and heat. Travel to other worksites is required for certain positions.
