Job Summary
Support daily operations of the HPP Chemical Operations Unit, including troubleshooting, increasing operational effectiveness and efficiency of production unit towards its entitlement, overseeing equipment resources, debottlenecking, equipment commissioning and production loss accounting. Be responsible to ensure the plant provides maximum unit availability in a safe and economical manner by providing support to plant personnel using available resources, by interfacing/coordinating with Supply Chain and SAP data owner and by helping to identify employee development opportunities, and participating in operator training/certifications. Responsible for owning and driving to closure Management of Change, Risk Management, incident investigations, and action items and preparing for/participating in PHAs and other necessary EHSS related reviews. Provide off hours coverage and support when necessary.
How You Can Be the Impact
· Support tactical production engineering needs by collecting and analyzing unit operating data, conducting routine checks, performing complex operational issue trouble-shooting/debottlenecking, leading root cause analyses on operational performance gaps with cross-functional team(s) and implementing corrective actions/solutions, and overseeing quality of performance gap tracking and resolution.
· Oversee selection and setting of targets for operating parameters and communicate them.
· Provide technical support to the unit/site to ensure the unit meets all ISO, PSM, and other external and internal regulatory requirements, including SOP and Environmental Health & Safety Management System. This includes, but is not limited to preparation for, and participation in PHAs/HAZOP's, executing MOCs, investigating incidents, and owning closure of appropriate action items.
· Ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken to return operations to normal, including invoking other Work Processes when necessary. Oversee Bad Actor and Performance Killer identification and work with others as appropriate to systematically resolve them at the root cause level.
· Support new product introduction qualifications and optimizations and new process/technology/equipment introductions.
· Support develop of front-end project package and project start-up ownership and execution. Review design packages for operability, functionality and safety, including participation in PSSR's, and make recommendations regarding new process technologies.
· Provide support to SAP inventory accuracy efforts, including cycle count/physical inventory execution as required. Oversee changes to material BOM's when necessary.

· A minimum of 2 years engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment

· Understanding of the sales and operations planning process; production system capabilities and limitations; and knowledge of the different conversion costs associated with product mix. Ability to use simple statistical tools such as fish bone, histogram, Pareto charts, and basic statistical calculations etc. for data analysis. Ability to collect relevant data, history trends, and process information, RCA results, and other data to identify or troubleshoot process problems.
· Ability to use in depth analysis and structured methodology to ID the true root causes of a situation or event.
· Incumbent derives great satisfaction out of transferring their knowledge and skills for process troubleshooting and problem resolution
· Ability to engage technicians/operators to drive culture, set operational expectations and meet targets in a safe and quality manner

The individual needs to be flexible with good interpersonal skills, be dedicated to efficiency, and able to readily accept change. This position requires a self-motivated person that is able to perform with minimal supervision.
