On August 9, 2021, Sony announced that it had completed its acquisition of Crunchyroll.
Sony has phased out Funimation and all their products will slowly move to CR and be finalized by April 2022.
The partners plan to start work on the new slate in April 2022 with anime-focused developer and producer Slow Curve.
