Chesapeake Minerals is a subsidiary of the Stewart Companies, a York, PA based, family-owned and operated group of companies serving the construction, materials, real estate, automotive and outdoor media industries.

The Crushing Quartz Plant Operator controls, analyzes, and adjusts the operation of fixed heavy equipment for the purpose of purifying quartz sand to be used in the glass industry. They are responsible for operating a fluidized bed dryer, conveyors, bucket elevators and other processing equipment as required to produce high purity quartz sand.

The Crushing Quartz Plant Operator will also provide instructions to drivers for loading, perform sample testing, input data, analyze results and perform other duties as required to ensure quality products and safe operating conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Work in a safe manner and abide by all YBP and MSHA safety rules, regulations, and best practices Perform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment

+ Run quality control tests on products made

+ Assist with plant repairs, maintenance and housekeeping

+ Maintain material quality

+ Maintains constant awareness of safety, efficiency and displays a flexibility and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems

+ Communicate production and maintenance needs to plant management

+ Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

+ Day shift position, must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary

+ Ability to operate a fluid bed dryer

+ Ability to be able to assist with plant repairs, maintenance and housekeeping

+ Ability to run quality control tests on products made

+ Prior experience operating asphalt, sand or aggregate plant

+ Experience with aggregate dryers, screens and conveyors

+ Work in a physically demanding environment

+ Have basic computer skills and be able to perform plant record keeping

+ Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time; climb, shovel, squat, grip, crawl, push/pull, as well as bend and lift up to 50lbs

SIGN ON BONUS OF $2,000

Aggregate Mining Company is seeking the ideal candidate who will operate a crushing and screening plant while maximizing material production and minimizing plant interruptions and/or breakdowns as well as work in our wash plant area. The applicant may also be used in performing other work assignments such as clean-up and operation of mobile equipment including loaders to cover vacations, absenteeism, or other production requirements (if necessary).

Functions/Duties:

+ Perform general maintenance, minor repairs and regular service on crushing and screening equipment daily as directed by supervisor.

+ Perform proper workplace examinations to minimize safety hazards and identify mechanical issues.

+ Assist the plant Supervisor with record keeping and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance

+ General cleanliness of assigned equipment.

+ Perform pre-shift inspection, maintain equipment repairs/maintenance records, and ensure that records are turned in to your supervisor.

+ Assist with safety audits.

+ Some local travel within the valley may be required.

+ Must be qualified to work in a safety sensitive environment.

+ Perform other related duties as required.

+ Long hours and weekends may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

+ Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

+ Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

+ Welding/torch cutting experience desired.

Must be able to pass both the Pre-Employment Drug testing and physical along with random, on the spot drug testing throughout the year.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
