Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking an experienced Section Manager Environmental to lead Cliffs' environmental department at Northshore Mining. Key responsibilities include leading environmental staff and ensuring that systems are in place to ensure the facility's compliance with all environmental permits and obligations. The Section Manager Environmental will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental reporting and permitting, including providing guidance and overseeing the preparation of environmental permit applications. The Section Manager Environmental will monitor and analyze environmental compliance data and trends to make recommendations for maintaining environmental compliance and ongoing performance improvements. The successful candidate will also review emerging environmental regulations for their impact on the business and occasionally engage in advocating for improvements to state and federal environmental rulemaking. This position will report to the Director Environmental Compliance for our Mining and Pelletizing business but will also communicate and interact directly with the site's General Manager.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Oversee environmental permit application development for new or modified facilities and ensure consistency amongst sites. Primary permitting oversight activities include: Title V air permits (including PSD applicability), NPDES and Stormwater, wetland (Section 404/ Army Corps of Engineers and Wetlands Conservation Act/Minnesota DNR), Permit to Mine (Minnesota DNR), etc.
Develop appropriate air emission modeling and permitting strategies to manage strategic air permitting initiatives or permit reissuances/modifications to support business objectives.
Develop proactive NPDES/State Disposal System water permitting/reissuance strategies to address evolving regulations and Waters of the United States/Waters of the State definitions.
Evaluate prospective projects against environmental review obligations (NEPA/MEPA) and manage EAW/EIS studies, if required.
Establish strong working relationships with regulatory agency staff to facilitate efficient and timely permit review and approval processes.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams, regulatory agencies, and local communities. Represent the company on industry trade association environmental committees.
Conduct site environmental assessments and identify potential environmental risks and liabilities.
Develop comments and engage with local, state, and federal agencies on environmental rulemakings and policy development.
Represent the company in regulatory meetings and hearings and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or environmental discipline.
Familiarity with operation and compliance related to industrial air emission control and water treatment systems.
Expertise in analyzing and interpreting the environmental regulations' impact on facilities.

Preferred Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of professional environmental experience, including permitting and reporting.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting environmental permit applications and other environmental compliance requirements/reports/documentation.
Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act (Title V - including PSD permitting, NESHAP, NAAQS, Regional Haze, also preferred), Clean Water Act (Section 401, 402, 404), Minnesota/local air quality regulations.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $135,000. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

This front-line leadership role is responsible for overseeing the electrical maintenance activities associated with Hot Side equipment, facilities, and power distribution systems. The successful candidate will lead maintenance workforce in executing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Summary of Responsibilities:
* Create, foster and promote a positive atmosphere to support safe production goals in the mine and plant.
* Promote and execute safe production.
* Conduct safety and information meetings within area.
* Coach, direct and develop technicians within their area.
* Manage training needs and promotions for department personnel.
* Maintain a productive relationship with all Northshore Mining team members.
* Maintain, and communicate daily and weekly schedules as required to maintain the plant production targets utilizing existing systems.

Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years experience in mining or heavy industry, with preference given to those with both operations and maintenance experience.
* Bachelor's degree in related field or at least 5 years related work experience is required.

* Be a champion of safe production methods & ideals.
