1994
In October 1994, Tim Berners-Lee formed the World Wide Web Consortium, W3C at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Laboratory for Computer Science.
CSS was first proposed by Hakon Wium Lie on October 10, 1994.
The saga of CSS starts in 1994.
1995
WWW3, the third conference in the WWW series, was held on April 10 14, 1995, in Darmstadt, Germany.
The discussions on the www-style mailing list, which was created in May 1995, influenced the development of CSS. Because it was important to be able to use the style sheets for other markup languages, HTML was removed from the name.
And after 20 years, more than 80,000 H kon Wium Lie, 12 December 1995 In 1995, the World Wide Web Consortium W3C also became operational.
1996
The first CSS specification to become an official W3C Recommendation is CSS level 1, published in December 1996.
1997
When Tantek elik joined Internet Explorer for Macintosh in 1997, his team was pretty small.
Still, in 1997 it became an official recommendation of the W3C and began to make its way into Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer 4, the dominant browsers of the time.
1998
Microsoft was put under pressure by the Web Standards Project WaSP , which published IE's Top 10 CSS Problems in November 1998 see Figure 1 . Figure 1.
The browser from the small Norwegian company made headlines in 1998 by being tiny it fit on a floppy and customizable while supporting most features found in the larger offerings from Microsoft and Netscape.
CSS level 2 appeared in 1998 and built on CSS level 1.
CSS3 was started in 1998 but it has never been completed.
1999
H kon, was so impressed with Opera's technology that he joined the company as CTO in 1999.
CSS3 1999 allows the user to create presentations from documents and to select from a wider range of fonts including those from Google and Typecast.
2000
So Starting with the development of version 5 in 2000, elik and his team decided to put their focus where no one else was, CSS support.
2001
Internet Explorer 6 was released in 2001.
2002
In September of 2002, they pulled it off and launched their redesign.
2003
In May of 2003, Shea created CSS Zen Garden.
In 2003, Microsoft discontinued support for the Mac and Apple announced a new browser called Safari.
The following year, in 2003, Jeffrey Zeldman published his book Designing with Web Standards, which became a sort of handbook for web designers looking to switch to standards-based design.
2006
In a question and answer session following a CSS lecture Lie presented on February 16, 2006 the day before his thesis defense a surprisingly prophetic bit of back and forth occurred.
Security 2006 is when IE 7 was released.
CSS was later formalized by Lie in his PhD thesis at the University of Oslo 2006.
2011
Not long after the release of CSS 2, a new browser, Opera was released which also supported CSS. It wasn t until June 2011 that W3C released CSS 2.1, which fixed errors and aligned the capabilities better with browser functions.
By 2011 the rise of JavaScript frameworks for building Single Page Applications began to affect the development landscape.
2014
Since 2014, many developers have worked to make CSS-in-JS a reality.
2016
EPUB is the most widely implemented format for e-books. It was developed by IDPF. IDPF and W3C are currently December 2016 in the process of merging their operations.
