    Flat rate: $50-$55 based on experience. # Under the direct supervision of a Radiologist the CT Technologist performs exams at a technical level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail. This position requires advanced#medical imaging knowledge, including skill in cross-sectional anatomy. ## A complete knowledge of all types of diagnostic CT exams and interventional procedures is required. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and acquired knowledge to obtain quality diagnostic images. Assists with interventional procedures. # # # EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: A high school diploma or GED equivalent; graduate of an ARRT approved Radiological Technology School program is required. Registration and certification with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and licensure with the State of Connecticut are required. ## Must remain current with ARRT continuing education requirements and maintain an active ARRT certificate. # Advanced certification from the ARRT in Computerized Tomography is expected from the incumbent within one year of hire. ## Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire and maintain clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this role. COMPETENCIES: Must have a full knowledge of CT exams and interventional procedures. Technologist must be capable of performing exams independently. # Must have complete working knowledge in the principals of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique and radiation protection as it relates to CT practice. Must be able to speak, read and write effectively using the English language. # This position requires the incumbent work cooperatively with department staff by sharing in taking rotational call and holiday hours. Coordinates patient#s medical needs with the Radiology Nurse. # Assures that room is properly equipped for procedure and cleaned appropriately post procedure. 3. ##### Assures female patients of child bearing ages are screened for possibility of pregnancy. 4. ##### Demonstrates skill in IV insertion. 5. ##### Documents exams into radiology system to ensure proper billing. 6. ##### Independently runs one#s own schedule and properly documents patient flow while remaining sensitive to patients care and other co-workers needs and desires. # Remains flexible in patient flow in order to accommodate daily emergency calls and requests for inpatient procedures. # Assists in obtaining transportation for patients when procedures are scheduled by internal Hospitalists, Physicians, etc. 7. ##### Demonstrates competency in performing all types of CT scans 8. ##### Processes CT exams utilizing the teleradiology system during off shift hours. # Able to trouble shoot problems and contact correct help lines if necessary. 9. ##### Demonstrates the ability to choose correct protocols for patients based on age and size. 10. # Accurately completes computer (Meditech) patient procedure documentation. # Assures the accuracy of documentation understanding that all items will be charged to the patient#s hospital bill. # Submits correctly documented and labeled exam to the Radiologist and is available for review and discussion. Reviews each exam for technical accuracy. 11. # Transports patients when needed. 12. # Performs quality assurance in accordance with the American College of Radiology guidelines for CT. 13. # Reviews post instructions to patient (example: hydration, when physician will receive results) 14. # Demonstrates ability to trouble shoot any electronic equipment such as scanner, workstations, and printers. 15. # Independently responds on a call basis to perform procedures. # Drives to affiliate and/or contracted location to provide services as may be required. 16. # Works cooperatively and exhibits Core Values at all time in order to accomplish all tasks as a member of the Medical Imaging Team.

Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor. Demonstrates yearly competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to conduct examinations and meet the needs of patients with regard to the patients age, condition or other special requirements. Assess physicians order and patients requisition for completeness by reviewing the requisition, pertinent laboratory results and the patients chart to ensure the correct procedure and protocol is performed. Documents pertinent patient and exam information and stores computerized images onto an archive media for future reference or retrieval. Routinely prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and processing. Set up films properly in PACs system. Accurately inputs data in the RIS by tracking actual procedure in order to capture all charges and other relevant information. Possess computer skills appropriate to meet departmental needs in preparation of reports and correspondence. Performs and documents weekly quality assurance testing on equipment according to established protocols to maintain high performance of the system. Works effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration. Provides clinical supervision and instruction to students by maintaining and understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process (in order to evaluate student growth and competence in performing radiographic procedures).     Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C., is currently seeking a full-time (30-hours) MRI Technologist for their Fairfield, Connecticut facility. As an MRI Technologist you will be responsible for maintaining imaging equipment to ensure that patients are protected and in an optimal position for imaging. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal communication skills as well the ability to communicate and engage with physicians, and patients. MRI Technologist will be responsible for gathering patient medical histories, explaining the scanning process, as well as review and document all patient related records. The MRI Technologist is also responsible for assisting Radiologist with special procedures such as arthrograms. Candidates should have both technical and physical strength necessary to operate the scanner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform MRI procedures as ordered with a high level of quality, care and timeliness Escort patients to dressing rooms and procedure room Explain MRI procedures and answer any questions or concerns Maintain and follow all MRI safety guidelines Complete related paperwork Administer I.V. contrast Conduct Quality Control when needed, monitor machine and equipment reporting any malfunctions to site supervisor/manager Qualifications: Associate Degree or equivalent 2-year college or technical school 6-12 months experience and/or training preferred ARRT (R) required ARRT (R)(MRI) preferred Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C., is an Equal Opportunity Employer
