The CT Technologist is a graduate of an accredited AMA school and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Schedule

The CT Technologist is a graduate of an accredited AMA school and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). The CT Technologist is licensed by the state as a general radiographer and is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and departmental protocols. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the performance of basic radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy, portable radiographic procedures, C-arm procedures, and OR imaging services. The CT Technologist demonstrates proficiency at routine diagnostic CT Scanning procedures including but not limited to CT of head/brain, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen/pelvis extremities and biopsy/drainage procedures. Responsibilities also include: knowledge of processing of CT system, surgical/sterile procedure, studies with or without contrast media and cross sectional anatomy.

Job functions:
• The radiation therapist performs various radiotherapy treatments and simulations at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail.
• Safely provides the correct radiotherapy treatment to patients
• Follows principles of radiation protection (i.e., ALARA) for patients, self and others.
• Reviews the isodose plan and treatment prescription prior to implementation.
• Verifies the treatment plan is consistent with the prescription and can be accurately implemented in the treatment room.
• Operates the medical equipment used for radiotherapy.
• Administers prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts as planned and prescribed by a radiation oncologist, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
• Utilizes imaging technologies for the explicit purpose of simulation, treatment planning and treatment delivery as prescribed by a radiation oncologist (e.g., weekly ports, CBCT, kVp and MV imaging, and IGRT
• Maintains accurate records of a patient's treatment regimen.
• Maintains records, reports and files as required, including such information as radiation dosages, equipment settings and patients' reactions.
