Interviews patient (two patient identifier), conducts patient screening and obtains medical history pertaining to procedure's clinical criteria. Assists the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensures that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling. 3. Completes exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner. Administers contrast material in the correct dosage, route and observes patients for adverse reactions. 4. Performs post processing as indicated; may include but not limited to, 3-D rendering. Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures that all processes and procedures are maintained to secure and protect all workstations in all work areas. As a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide CT services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a Temporary/PRN position working as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (90%) Patient CT Imaging Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure Explains and prepares patients for scanning imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately Performs routine and advanced scanning imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure Adjusts scanning scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS) Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers (5%) CT/Imaging Department Support Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable (5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
