• Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.
• The radiologic technologist uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Current State of Texas License as a Radiology Technologist.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Applied Science - Radiology or trained in a hospital-based program (AMA approved)
• ARRT (R), (CT) registered or eligible.
• Must obtain ARRT (CT) within 12 months of being registry eligible.
• Successful completion of cross-sectional anatomy.
• Must have 1 year of experience as a diagnostic technologist.
• Initial Stroke Education: 3.5 Hours
• Annual Stroke Education: 2 Hours
• Total Joint & Spine Center initial and annual education: 0.70 hours

Summary Of Responsibilities
The CT/X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including computed tomography (CT) scans and general radiography (X-rays), to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role involves operating advanced imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images, prioritizing patient safety, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays and CT scans in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
2) Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
3) Prepare and position patients for procedures; explain the process and answer any patient questions.

Requirements
Education
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licenses/Certificates
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R) certification required and ARRT(CT) certification preferred but not required.
Licensed by the Texas Medical Board, MRT registration.
CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
Experience
Experience a plus, basic knowledge of all radiologic equipment. Must be proficient in all X-ray studies.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Experience in X-ray and CT required for full time positions and willing to cross-train all PRN positions into CT.
