JOB SUMMARY The CT/XR Registered Technologist is a full-time Technologist and will be responsible for obtaining high quality radiographic images. This role requires competent operation of radiation producing equipment such as portable rad units, XR, to create diagnostic images. You will need a valid Radiologic Technologist license, CT and XR certification to apply for this Radiology Tech position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The technologist must be able to effectively explain the procedure to the patient and be sure they are relaxed and at ease during the exam and provide care to the patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to establish inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety. Reports "near misses" and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e. contrast media and medications) or potential outcomes, as appropriate. Ensures all imaging equipment has had quality control (QC) performed as required and is in safe working order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventative maintenance procedures; calls for service if needed. Performs visual preventative maintenance checks of all assigned equipment at the beginning and end of each shift. Records and reports maintenance requirements to appropriate staff. Helps maintain an effective Performance Improvement, Q/A & Q/C program in compliance with Joint Commission, Texas DSHS, IAC and/or ACR Reviews exposed radiographs ensuring proper positioning, techniques and identification are obtained per protocol. Documents all exams/procedures in logbooks and enters charges in patient's EMR. Able to perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Able to explain the procedure and put patients at ease. Able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures. Able to perform tasks exclusively without need for routine oversight. Promotes quality patient care through the performance of diagnostic and invasive CT scan procedures utilizes appropriate technique, established protocols, physician direction, and age specific guidelines. JOB DETAILS: PRN Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares patients for procedure by noting appropriate medical history, carefully screening patients for contrast reactions, noting the correct physician order, and maintaining rigid adherence to department safety standards. Performs daily calibrations of CT scanners, cleans scanning area before and after each patient and at shift breaks, adheres to infection control practices pre and post patient care, stocks supplies and routinely exams stock to make sure no expired items are in the department. Provides Radiologist/Physician with assistance during complex, invasive, and therapeutic procedures, including room and supply preparation. Able to adjust to high volume situations and critical needs without sacrificing accuracy/quality. Follows policy and procedures when performing CT scans. Completes order entry and exam data entry in a timely manner that allows for images to be viewed and reported on by radiologists. Consistently follows patient care, and facility guidelines and procedures in performance. Collaborates with inter and interprofessional colleagues to ensure quality outcomes. Uses professional judgment and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize, and execute the patient's plan of care consistently with patient assessment data, physicians' treatment plans, and professional standards of care. Implement measures to prevent exposure to infectious pathogens and communicable conditions. Identifies risks and hazards to patients through various risk assessments, with actions taken to mitigate patient harm. OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMP Agnes Arnold: Conroe, TX Misty Meadows: Conroe, TX Casa Mare: Seabrook, TX VIRTUAL CAMP TOURS Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council runs three yearly summer overnight camps: Misty Meadows Ranch, Camp Agnes Arnold, and Casa Mare. GSSJC camp staff will be trained to work at all three camps, but primarily work at Misty Meadows and Agnes Arnold in Conroe, TX. Staff will live and work onsite Sunday noon through Friday 6:30pm and one (1) weekend Friday 6:30pm through Saturday 5:30pm. Room and board is provided for all staff. Living accommodations are primarily climate controlled, but staff must be willing to live, sleep, and work in non-airconditioned spaces. Leadership Specialist The Leadership Specialist facilitates the CIT/WIT (Counselor/Wrangler in Training) and other leadership sessions as designed by GSUSA and GSSJC. The Leadership Specialist acts as a role model and mentor for all staff reports to the Assistant Camp Directors and must have worked at a GSSJC overnight camp before. Program Specialist Program Specialists facilitate a variety of activities depending on the individual's skills such as archery, riflery, challenge course, canoeing and kayaking, lifeguarding and other camp activities. Program Specialists act as experts in their certified activities and provide coaching and guidance to other staff regarding those areas of expertise.
