Confers with the Radiologists to establish protocols of non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to complete the exam. Evaluates the nature of critical and urgent procedures and arranges patient priorities to accommodate the Stat orders. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field and implements those which would improve the operation of the service. Performs or monitors safety checks on patients, employees and visitors to comply with the safety standards regarding ferrous objects and cardiac pacemakers prior to those persons entering the environment of the magnetic field. Monitors the examinations by checking computations, performances, and results of the selected parameters to obtain the best diagnostic computer generated data and images. Sends images to the PACS. Ensures equipment is operated within manufactures guidelines. Assist with obtaining acceptable images, uploading and charts needed information for ACR renewal. Knowledge: Professional knowledge of diagnostic technologist principles, practices, concepts, and anatomy of three-dimensional relationships sufficient to perform a full range of duties connected to MRI. Knowledge of MRI standards to monitor and evaluate work of technologists. Knowledge and skill sufficient to consult with physicians and physicists on logical protocols to follow in attempting to establish or confirm the diagnosis of a patient. Practical knowledge of computer operations to ensure proper control of patient data input and to ensure accuracy of data output. ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred. Licensed per state regulation.
