Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in month-end and year-end close activities, financial analysis, and reporting. This position also supports process transformation initiatives within the KARL STORZ internal controls framework, helping streamline operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and ensure compliance.
Core Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and corrections
Draft high-quality commentary and supporting documentation for audits

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, MBA preferred.
Experience:
7 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Licenses/Certifications:
Certified Public or Certified Management Accountant.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis, month end and year end close responsibilities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP) and their application within a manufacturing environment.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Experience working with outside auditors and preparation of auditing information.
Planning and organization skills.
Strong internal and external customer orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.
Proficiency in use of Company Wide ERP system and modules as well as overlay products (Qlik).
Problem analysis and resolution skills.
