These tire/wheel assemblies are extremely heavy (as much as 100 lbs. or more) and although it is not appropriate or advisable to carry them or lift them for any appreciable distance (as would be expected tires would be rolled), there will be times in the handling of truck tires that the wheel will need to be handled, managed and controlled as it is being removed from the truck and when it is being remounted on the truck. This part will require some heavy lifting. In addition, there will be times that the tire/wheel assemblies will need to be lifted onto a tire machine or work bench, with assistance. These activities may require the deadlifting of the tire off of the ground wherein the weigh has to be controlled and maintained. More importantly, the handling of truck tire/wheel assemblies will require the removal and remounting of the tire; an activity that requires managing and controlling the weight of an extremely awkward and heavy part while at the same time threading axel nuts to secure the tire/wheel assemble back onto the truck axel assembly. No part of this process is light work. It is demanding of every part of the human body. The person holding this position will need to identify an ability to perform this and all of the physical activities/functions listed within this job description.
