Smart Lunches culinary manager job description

-Prep, plate, cook and pack food every day in an accurate and timely fashion, ensuring 99.9%+ accuracy. Make sure every center gets what they ordered and that it is safe and delicious.

-Manage the culinary team ensuring the Smart Lunches program and processes are executed consistently and well.

-Order all ingredients needed for Smart Lunches accurately and efficiently.

-Manage kitchen costs and financials to ensure profitability.

-Interface with delivery staff as they pick up and drop off the Smart Lunches totes.

-Communicate with Smart Lunches team every day, making sure the entire organization is aware of the region and kitchen status.

This position is based in our local kitchen in Malden, MA. Compensation will be salary plus bonus. The company offers health care, vacation and stock options.

This is a full-time, salaried position. Production is typically Monday thru Friday, 6am-4pm and occasional Sundays.

Requirements

  • Proven track record (3+ years) in a kitchen supervisory role
  • Passion for servicing kids good food accurately and well
  • Great attention to detail and process
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, small company environment, always adapting to customer needs to meet schedule and shaping our product evolution
  • Dependable and able to meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality) with no restrictions.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to team members in the preparation and serving of high quality and great tasting meals.
  • Supervises the delivery ambassador process and provides constructive feedback on areas of improvements.

Education and Experience

  • 2 years experience in a kitchen supervisory role, overseeing the work load of other staff members & peers
  • 2 years related experience and/or training in food production – ServSafe Certification Required.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Culinary degree or certificate required.

Job Type: Full-time - Monday thru Friday, 6am - 4pm.
