Surgical Tech Student Extern
The Surgical Technician Student Extern functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the first, or second Surgical Technician under the direct supervision of a Surgical Tech Preceptor and as well as the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period. Maintains and cleans equipment and identifies items needing repair per policy.
Effectively performs sterilization, disinfection and document loads per policy.
Applies principles of asepsis to maintain sterility during surgical set up and procedure.
