Pros of working at Cumberland Farms

The customers and some of the employees

Cons of working at Cumberland Farms

Not enough to live on I’ve been there for over a year now and my raise wasn’t even 0.50 on the hour and I guess that is the only raise we get yearly. It’s not a family wage it’s a high school wage

Free coffee on shift

Pros of working at Cumberland Farms

-It's fast paced, serving the customers n being part of the Cumby's brand -I like that we're allowed to wear shorts during the spring and summer months! I run around non-stop my whole shift and get so hot so it will be cooler! -Weelky pay

Cons of working at Cumberland Farms

-That there is such a limit on hours available n they're being cut at my store. - I feel we should be able to have a slice of pizza, something from the rollergrill, macaroni and cheese etc...something like that during our shift for free. YES we get a discount which I'm VERY GRATEFUL FOR!! Yet, a discount on everything ele in the store absolutely... this is while working NOT taking home!! -EMPLOYEE SAFETY: Also we cash out(end of day) our registers at 2am. ALWAYS customers are in the store watching and/or waiting to be rung up. So can't be avoided that we have a lot of $ we are handling in front of them. So I feel we should be able to lock the door during that time. I feel EXTREMELY UNSAFE for those 10-15min during my shifts. My manager requested the gate be put back that broke off to close off an area near the registers/counter and apparently Corporate denied it. To me having all this money seen by customers, watching it being fed into a safe and being able to see a storage vault of $ being open is asking for trouble. Especially since they have easy access to walk right behind the counter. They don't HAVE to jump over! My store is 270 Main St., Tewksbury, MA. This is right next to the Lowell line and we have some shady characters that come in nightly -Also use of Narcan... I was told that I wasn't able to administer it if I found someone overdosing while a coworker called 911. I carry this on me always since I just recently moved from Worcester back to Lowell. I'm trained and if someone is dying those minutes before help arrives could save their life. Narcan can't hurt ANYONE if given, can only help. There are good samaritan laws in place as well for CPR. Can CPR not be performed?? -Clothing very expensive for rate of pay -Coffee should ALWAYS be free, even if not working -Being told that 2 employees on the night shift at my large store, cleaning the stuff (nobody else does), while serving customers ie: ringing up n cooking for them is too much. It's a 1 person job! No way could everything get done! I'm constantly gettng pulled away from tasks to cook n deal with customer's needs...we both are all night.

Cumberland Farms benefits

-Ability to further my education -Encouragement of growth in the company -Some of the Cumberland Farms 'Perks'...(could be cheaper though) -Investment options
