This position will primarily travel between both counties as part of regular duties. As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral member of our nursing and psychiatric team, performing a combination of administrative, clinical, and/or laboratory responsibilities. This role works closely with the individuals and families we serve, involving direct contact either face-to-face or by phone as well as indirect communication through electronic systems or written correspondence. Job Functions: Obtain and document in the electronic health record patient medical histories, laboratory and test results, vital signs, heights, weights, side effects, clinical assessments, and other patient concerns or questions regarding their psychiatric treatment. Reconcile the medication lists of patients who are receiving medications from other health care providers. Order authorized medications for patients per psychiatrist or advanced nurse (medical providers) as written in the electronic health record. Collect blood or other laboratory specimens, log items collected, prepare them for testing, and deliver these items for testing. Inform patients of laboratory and test results, medication authorizations or denials, or other information deemed necessary as directed by the psychiatrist or nurses. Perform other duties as assigned.
