Job Responsibilities Include
Strategic Procurement Leadership
Oversee purchasing activities across multiple sites within the region.
Develop and execute regional sourcing strategies that align with enterprise goals and local operational requirements.
Manage supplier relationships and drive cost savings and value creation initiatives.
Planning & Forecasting
Translate demand signals into actionable purchasing strategies, ensuring timely availability of materials and services.
Lead regional inventory planning efforts, balancing service levels with working capital targets.
Analyze historical usage, seasonal trends, and business cycles to inform procurement decisions and mitigate supply risks.
Operational Excellence
Ensure timely execution of purchase orders and resolution of supply issues across the region.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process standardization, automation, and supplier collaboration.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a team of Buyers, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
Serve as the primary procurement liaison for regional leadership, operations, and finance teams.
Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration within the procurement function.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of planning and inventory management principles; experience with ERP systems and planning tools.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a matrixed environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience in multi-site or regional procurement operations.
Familiarity with category management and strategic sourcing methodologies.

As a Materials Manager here is the work you will do:
Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive planning/category strategy for parts, commodities and services as related to the business unit and stakeholders. Responsible for the strategic direction and effective management of suppliers, including adherence to RFID and/or bar coding of materials that correspond to the project Work Package structure

Role Definition
This role functions as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist II within the newly formed Strategy, Risk, and Compliance organization of Solar's Global Supply Chain. The position serves as the subject matter expert for assigned commodity strategies and supplier sourcing activities. Additionally, the role is accountable for developing, documenting, and executing short and long-term strategic sourcing plans in close collaboration with assigned group-level Sourcing Specialist(s). Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Strategy: Lead the creation and implementation of commodity strategies that align with global and regional business objectives. Ensure sourcing plans support scalability, innovation, and resilience across the supply base.
Supplier Identification & Onboarding: Act as the sourcing focal point for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers that meet technical, commercial, and compliance requirements. Drive supplier qualification and readiness for new and existing programs.
Global Supply Chain Alignment: Support the development and execution of global supply chain strategies that enhance performance across People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing initiatives are integrated into broader supply chain goals.
Risk Management & Business Continuity: Proactively identify and mitigate sourcing risks that could impact operational execution or strategic goals. Communicate risk scenarios and develop contingency plans to protect business continuity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Finance to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with technical requirements, cost targets, and project timelines.

Team Leadership & Supervision

Ensure purchase orders are issued accurately, timely, and in accordance with approved budgets, specifications, and schedules
Monitor open orders, expedite long-lead substation equipment, and resolve delivery, quality, or documentation issues
Support competitive bidding, supplier selection, and pricing negotiations as required
Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers on operational purchasing matters related to substation projects
Coordinate with Engineering to confirm technical specifications, drawings, and material requirements
Partner with Project Management and Construction teams to align procurement activities with construction sequencing and site needs
Escalate supply chain risks, schedule impacts, or cost concerns to the Purchasing Director
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approval authorities, contract terms, and client requirements
Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and audit trails
Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities
Promote ethical sourcing and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards applicable to substation work
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Track and report purchasing metrics such as cycle time, on-time delivery, supplier performance, and expediting status

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

7+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in EPC, construction, or industrial environments

Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and procurement controls

Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
