On March 15, 1946 Pres Eckert and John Mauchly left the Moore School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and established their own firm, Electronic Control Company, in Philadelphia.
In September 1946 the company received a grant of $75,000 from the National Bureau of Standards for a research project involving Eckert's mercury delay line memory system, and tape input/output devices.

2003 Automated Logic recognizes CSC for Project of the Year for its work on the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
In 2003, Contemporary Controls created the Industrial Ethernet University as a way to educate the public on this technology.
2004 CSC consolidates its offices into a new 12,000-square-foot building in Lee’s Summit, Mo., positioning itself for future growth.
In 2004, the company introduced its first managed Industrial Ethernet switch based on firmware developed internally to support Broadcom switch controllers.
In 2005, Contemporary Controls purchased the financial interests of its German partner in CCG after the partner was purchased by another company.
2006 Fort Leavenworth selects CSC and Automated Logic as its standard BAS platform with the award of an energy performance project.
In 2007, Contemporary Controls introduced the BASremote, a family of BACnet-compliant products that not only connected to Ethernet networks, but could interface with common sensor and actuator devices as the company proved that taking Ethernet down to the device-level was possible.
In 2008, the company introduced the BASrouter - a BACnet/IP to BACnet MS/TP router and began becoming active in BACnet events.
2009 CSC expands its services by adding lighting control systems to its portfolio of building automation system offerings.
Contemporary Controls was recognized by Tridium in 2010 as one of the first companies to obtain Sedona Framework certification.
In 2011, Contemporary Controls became a Tridium OEM partner with the right to resell Niagara Framework technology.
2012 Cerner awards CSC the building automation and lighting controls portion of its new Cerner Legends Campus of buildings, later to be called Cerner Continuous Campus.
2013 CSC celebrates the addition of its 50th employee as part of its continued commitment to outstanding client service.
In 2014 Contemporary Controls was honored by receiving Control Trends (CTA) Peripheral Product of the Year award while George Thomas was inducted to CTA's Hall of Fame.
2015 CSC purchases the control division of James River Mechanical in Springfield, Mo., and opens up its Springfield office with a highly talented group of employees to serve the Southern Missouri market.
2016 As part of its continued investment in smart buildings, CSC adds a security division and structured cabling division to its technical complement, developing synergies between all aspects of building technology.
2017 CSC breaks ground on a new 25,000-square-foot office building that will service as the Kansas City headquarters and training facility.
2018 Automated Logic recognizes CSC as Dealer of the Year due to its superior field performance, excellent customer service, sustained yearly growth and community engagement.
