The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the following:

* Serve as the main point of contact with tribes, tribal language programs and other collaborative constituencies requesting technical assistance and professional development support for Native language teachers, Native language curriculum development work and community engagement regarding Native language teaching.
* Assist with training activities for mentors of Native American language teachers.
* Assist in the production of Native language curriculum resource materials to be used in Native language programs and provide training to Native language teachers in the use of technology and equipment housed in the Center to develop various types of instructional resource materials.
* Assist in facilitating and expanding outreach activities for early childhood education in collaboration with EC programs focused on Native language and culture.
* Coordinate a schedule of materials development and training requests and distribution of resources in response to technical assistance requests from external constituencies.
* Assist with coordination and facilitation of planning summer institutes with teaching team consultants.
* Catalog, maintain, and archive all developed curriculum material samples.
* Prepare training reports and maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders on materials development projects; professional development planning meetings; and other curriculum tasks assigned by the Center Director.
* Maintain an updated inventory of supplies and materials used in developing resources for training and instruction.

Position Description: The purpose of the Curriculum Specialist - Secondary is to enhance and evolve the curriculum through a dedicated process of continuous improvement, ensuring it remains relevant, engaging, and representative of the diverse student and educator populations served. The key responsibilities include developing new, inclusive content that resonates with and supports the unique needs of our school communities that serve secondary-age students, as well as facilitating both in-person and virtual professional learning sessions for schools using our secondary curriculum. We are seeking a candidate with an innovative approach to teaching and learning, including demonstrated experience leveraging AI and other technology tools to create customized, engaging experiences for both students and educators.

Curriculum Specialist Responsibilities
Execute our process of continuous improvement of the CharacterStrong secondary curriculum to increase the value and effectiveness of one of CharacterStrong's signature solutions.
Develop new content that is relevant, engaging, and representative of the many different students and educators that CharacterStrong serves.
Build and collaborate on quarterly projects and coordinate between cross-departmental teams to successfully perform curriculum and professional development audits.
Utilize expertise in secondary education, evidence-based instruction and, social, emotional, and behavioral needs among youth to bring voice and perspective to content generation.
Facilitate in-person and virtual professional learning for schools utilizing the secondary curriculum. This includes traveling an average of 1-2 times per month within the 50 US states during most of the year, and 3-4 times per month during August and September.
Host live webinars for schools that showcase different aspects of CharacterStrong and the secondary curriculum
Conduct discovery research with educational stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and best practices in secondary education and character education, behavioral competencies, future ready strategies, and other state-mandated health and safety standards to inform curriculum revisions and enhancements.
Collaborate with curriculum, product, and technology teams to explore and implement tech-enhanced solutions that personalize learning and support educator effectiveness.
Develop differentiated instructional strategies and materials that support multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for behavior and social-emotional development in secondary settings.
Design, revise, and align curriculum content with state and national standards, ensuring integration of character education and social and behavioral components into subject areas for grades 6-12.
Leverage innovative approaches to teaching and learning, including the use of AI and other emerging technologies, to design customized, interactive learning experiences that increase engagement and relevance for both students and educators.
Required Qualifications
Experience in curriculum development and content creation for implementation supports (training, asynchronous videos, implementation scripts, alignment documents, PLC protocols, etc.)
Experience with delivering social and emotional learning curriculum, behavioral supports (e.g., PBIS or restorative practices), inclusive practices for students with IEPs, and other evidence-based Tier 1 programs and practices to enable CS to provide a more comprehensive integrated Tier 1 solution at the secondary level.
Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills
Strong writing and verbal skills
Strong technology skills, including Google Suite and other similar platforms
Strong understanding of AI as a tool for unique content and resource development
Preferred knowledge of the CharacterStrong curriculum
Preferred experience and knowledge of secondary education
Preferred fluency in French or Spanish (written and verbal)
Preferred experience presenting at a state, regional, or national level
Minimum of 5 years working in education

Position Summary:
The Curriculum Developer will provide expert instructional design and curriculum development support to the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), Occupational and Environmental Health, Force Development Division (OED). This role focuses on the creation, revision, and validation of Career Development Courses (CDCs) and Qualification Training Packages (QTPs) using formal Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and revise CDCs and QTPs using ISD models such as ADDIE.
Analyze and validate course content and recommend effective training strategies.
Develop test items and ensure alignment with instructional objectives.
Ensure training materials meet USAF instructional standards and strategic goals.
Collaborate with SMEs, instructional system specialists, and leadership to align curriculum with USAF requirements.
Maintain and update electronic files and records.
Support Utilization and Training Workshops and assist in the development of Career
Field Education and Training Plans (CFETPs).
Analyze student feedback and provide recommendations for courseware improvement.
Prepare and submit monthly progress and technical reports.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, Preventive Medicine, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Bioenvironmental Engineering or related federal public health fields.
Demonstrated experience with ISD models and curriculum development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience interfacing with senior DoD personnel.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
Experience developing CDCs, QTPs, or On-the-Job Training (OJT) materials.
Familiarity with online training tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python.
At least 4 years of experience conducting Health Risk Assessments and managing OEH programs within the DoD.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 0730-1630 (flexibility required for occasional after-hours tasks)
