Performs and coordinates GMP cleaning and Sanitization of process areas on the manufacturing floor as assigned related to the manufacturing of bulk drug substance in a multi-product facility.
Responsible for cleaning, sanitization of small parts and hoses used in the manufacturing process.
Performs duties under limited supervision and according to standard operating and manufacturing procedures.
Documents work according to cGMP and cGDP.
Adheres to established regulations and follows cGMP established by site.
Reports abnormalities and deviations in a timely and accurate manner.
Adheres to safety standards and identifies unsafe situations / habits and escalates appropriately.
Maintains production areas according to predefined standards (5s).
Prepares cleaning solution applicate to the area.
Cleans specified rooms on the manufacturing floor using approved cleaning solution, wearing appropriate PPE including respirator maybe required.
Perform other duties as assigned such as, trash removal, floor to ceiling cleaning, tidying up areas (5S), and potentially cleaning of small parts and equipment, performing real time documentation of cleaning in each area.
Responsible to be current with online training and qualifications.
Working in a highly regulated environment following all applicable Boehringer and Boehringer Fremont SOPs, OCPs and BGSs for cGMP, EHS and Compliance policies.
Required to work according to given schedules in a 24/7 shift structure and flexibility to adapt working schedule upon prior given notice.

About The Custodial Relief Program
The Recreation and Park Department's Custodial Relief Program is a pool of on-call custodians who will temporarily fill in throughout the department's citywide facilities in cases of vacation, illness and other leaves. Employees in this program may work on average between 12 - 16 hours per week, and are expected to maintain availability from 4:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. for at least four (4) consecutive days in the week to meet the needs of the department.
Job Description
Under supervision, employees in the Custodial Relief Program will be responsible for:
1. Performing routine cleaning tasks;
2. Maintaining interiors of buildings, other facilities and surrounding areas;
3. Maintaining recreational areas, locker rooms and specific exterior areas of buildings such as parking areas, ramps and sidewalks;
4. Operating scrubbers, buffers, wax applicators, burnishers, carpet extractors, pressure washers and other electrical, gas and manual operated appliances and equipment (e.g., leaf blowers);
5. Removing disposable waste materials from premises;
6. Washing interior glass, wall partitions and interior and exterior windows;
7. Caring for custodian tools, equipment and supplies;
8. Securing buildings as required;
9. Driving large vans (e.g. 12-person) and trucks in a safe manner; and
10. Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience
1. Six (6) months (1040 hours) verifiable paid full-time custodial or janitorial experience at a commercial building (such as an office building, warehouse, retail or wholesale store, or non-profit agency or a commercial facility (such as a university, hospital stadium, auditorium, hotel/motel, etc.); OR
2. Certificate of completion of a Custodial Training Program equivalent to the City College of San Francisco Custodial Training program; OR
3. Verification of current enrollment in a custodial training course equivalent to the City College of San Francisco Custodial Training program at the time of application. Candidates who are enrolled in a custodial training course at the time of application must submit verification of having completed the course (e.g., a copy of their certificate), prior to appointment. The Department
The Parks and Recreation Department is the third largest department in the City and is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. The Parks and Recreation Department is composed of a Director and 22 full-time management positions. The department is comprised of the Recreation, Parks, and Building Maintenance divisions. The Parks and Recreation Department mission is to provide opportunities for physical, cultural and social well being; protect and enhance the physical environment; and ensure the effective and efficient use of public facilities and open space.
The Building Maintenance Division maintains 32 facilities totaling more than 563,000 square feet and over 275 acres of park land. The division provides janitorial, preventative maintenance services, and necessary building and related equipment repairs to all of the City's facilities, including interior and exterior work. The division also performs a variety of tasks, which include moving furniture, set-ups, and many other miscellaneous tasks as required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, and techniques used in performing custodial repair and maintenance; occupational hazards and safety practices and procedures related to the work; and techniques for dealing with the public, City staff, and representatives of contractors in an effective manner. The ideal Building Maintenance Custodian will also have the ability to maintain proper standards of cleanliness in assigned areas; follow written and verbal instructions; maintain basic records; and use materials, tools, and equipment safely and effectively form physical labor, including periodic heavy labor.
The Position
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to the following):
* Sweeps, mops, waxes and polishes floors; shampoos and cares for carpets and rugs.
* Dusts and polishes woodwork, furniture, fixtures and equipment; wash windows, walls and other fixtures.
* Empties and cleans trash containers and wastebaskets; picks up paper and other debris.
* Cleans rest rooms and maintain supplies.
* Locks and unlocks doors, as necessary, provides for other forms of building security.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Experience: One year of janitorial experience
Training: Equivalent to graduation from high school.

About The Custodial Relief Program
The Recreation and Park Department's Custodial Relief Program is a pool of on-call custodians who will temporarily fill in throughout the department's citywide facilities in cases of vacation, illness and other leaves. Employees in this program may work on average between 12 - 16 hours per week, and are expected to maintain availability from 4:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. for at least four (4) consecutive days in the week to meet the needs of the department.
Role description
Under supervision, employees in the Custodial Relief Program will be responsible for:
1. Performing routine cleaning tasks;
2. Maintaining interiors of buildings, other facilities and surrounding areas;
3. Maintaining recreational areas, locker rooms and specific exterior areas of buildings such as parking areas, ramps and sidewalks;
4. Operating scrubbers, buffers, wax applicators, burnishers, carpet extractors, pressure washers and other electrical, gas and manual operated appliances and equipment (e.g., leaf blowers);
5. Removing disposable waste materials from premises;
6. Washing interior glass, wall partitions and interior and exterior windows;
7. Caring for custodian tools, equipment and supplies;
8. Securing buildings as required;
9. Driving large vans (e.g. 12-person) and trucks in a safe manner; and
10. Performing other related duties as required.
How to qualify
Experience
1. Six (6) months (1040 hours) verifiable paid full-time custodial or janitorial experience at a commercial building (such as an office building, warehouse, retail or wholesale store, or non-profit agency or a commercial facility (such as a university, hospital stadium, auditorium, hotel/motel, etc.); OR
2. Certificate of completion of a Custodial Training Program equivalent to the City College of San Francisco Custodial Training program; OR
3. Verification of current enrollment in a custodial training course equivalent to the City College of San Francisco Custodial Training program at the time of application. Candidates who are enrolled in a custodial training course at the time of application must submit verification of having completed the course (e.g., a copy of their certificate), prior to appointment. Translation services are used if language-concordant staff are not available.
Custodians in SOMA RISE Services are responsible for ensuring that all janitorial duties are performed in a timely manner, and that the site is well maintained.
