This will be accomplished by delivering complete building and grounds maintenance services in a cost effective and proactive manner. Custodians are under the supervision of the Director of the Facilities Maintenance and perform a variety of custodial and general housekeeping duties involving the care, cleaning and stocking of supplies in college buildings, offices, and laboratory areas. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs cleaning duties in corridors, lobbies, offices, restrooms, classrooms, laboratories, stairs, balconies, stair landings and elevators. * Sweeps, mops, strips and waxes floors; picks up litter in building areas; cleans light fixtures and windows; change light bulbs; wash walls; clean tiles; dust and polish; and clean stoves, refrigerators and vending appliances. * Cleans and disinfects rooms, empties trash containers, and sanitizes containers to meet sanitary requirements. Vacuums and spots clean rugs and carpets. Polishes furniture and metal fixtures. * Reports items requiring service or repair to the Director of Facilities Maintenance. Cleans snow and debris from the front entry steps to buildings. * Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. QUALIFICATION: High school diploma required.

Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments. All office furniture, window coverings and small appliances must be cleaned and wiped down daily. Exterior terminal cleaning must include sweeping and power-washing walkway and driveway. Power-washing must be complete twice weekly as designated by supervisor. All Terminal Bay areas must be checked and cleaned and free of floor dryer daily. Responsible for Bus cleaning at terminal as needed or requested by supervisor or leader on duty.
