Our Night Porter is responsible for fulfilling assigned housekeeping and maintenance duties in the community's general area, during the night shift. The position is full time with 4x 10-hour shifts and includes weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate floor cleaning machines and clean hard surfaces and carpets as directed.
Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition, including empty apartments, common areas, and outside spaces.
Wash, sanitize, dust, polish, vacuum, mop, and sweep all areas of the establishment.
Follow community cleaning schedule and protocol according to community guidelines and follow established safety precautions.
Report all repair requests or safety hazards.
Laundry duties as assigned.
Ensure that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are always properly stored.
Perform routine building maintenance rounds as directed, completing tasks such as painting, wall patching, floor care, pressure washing, and basic plumbing repairs.
Work within the legal scope of local and state codes.
Respect residents' privacy and preferences while cleaning their living spaces.
Build positive relationships with residents by engaging in friendly, respectful interactions.
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to instructions.
Follow infection control and sanitation protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of waste.
Requirements:
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and certificates:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience, Competencies, and Skills:
At least one (1) year of housekeeping experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting (hotels) is preferred.
Prior maintenance experience and general maintenance skillset are a plus, including drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, painting, and floor care.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses, as well as cleaning equipment is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Friendly and professional demeanor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
